I've been playing Ring Runner recently, and after I unlocked the hanger I've had the pleasure of sticking to Grappler-type ships as much as I want. Basically most weapons of the grappler ships are physics based objects, like pulling enemies towards you, using a cargo beam to launch them into objects or other enemies, controlling a giant flail/morningstar or charging up a bat to launch enemies or projectiles away from you with a nice satisfying THUNK.
So I got thinking, what are some games where the combat has some depedence on the physics engine?
I also thought of Hammerfall, a game where the entire gimmick is you get to move your flying vehicle in a way to manipulate the free moving object like a blade, mace, hammer, rock, etc. It's a pretty fun game with a terrible UI that usually gets in the way. There's also Exanima/Sui Genesis which I doubt will ever leave early access which is why I haven't played it yet.
I recorded two videos showcasing the flail, cargo beam and bat in question, but my toaster is too weak to handle a retard like me who has zero idea of what to do with OBS/ffmpeg settings. Have a video of Hammerfall instead. Also youtube is burying Hammerfall thanks to the new elder shits game. Thanks Todd you fuck.
