The Sony MDR-V6 is tried and true with a great neural sound, but you should replace the earpads. The ones that it comes with will make your ears sweat, so get a velour replacement. For a microphone, your choice matters a lot less on the low end. Below a price threshold, everything that isn't absolute garbage is going to sound similarly adequate. If you're going for the old velcro attachment method, go with whatever's best for your money. If you want a quality desk microphone, Blue is a fairly popular brand among the youtube-types.

unlike >>16332242 the srhs are actually pretty neutral but if youre a real audionigger why would you be asking /v/ for headphone recs in this case you might find them a little biased, although they are often used as monitoring cans so ??

I have a Steelseries Rival 300 right now, had it for about 3 years and no complaints. Had a deathadder before and it was fine until it wasn't Buttons quit working reliably and the scroll wheel got fucked. Had that one for about 3-4 years and by the second year it was starting to have mechanical problems.

I've got some DT990 Pro 250 ohms and they are amazing, great soundstage for gaming. Pretty much a great headphone in every way except for their overbearing highs but if you are not treble sensitive it may not bother you, I am so I have to EQ them a little. You'll definitely need an amp to drive them if you don't already have one. I really want to get the Khan mod done to them once I get enough cash.

If you've got/want to get a desk mount, the Audio Technica AT2020 is fuckin baller and you can get it in USB if you're not autistic enough to set up an XLR setup. It sounds fantastic.
