Mario Party is fair in its unfairness. It has the chance of fucking everyone over equally. Either the game itself fucks you, or you lose the minigames due to a lack of skill (or, every once in a while, good strategy from your opponents). With a team-based multiplayer game, it's entirely possible to do the very best that's realistically possible within the limitations of the game itself and still lose because your team is just that utterly fucking useless. You're never truly responsible for the outcome of the match, you're just contributing a tiny bit while the rest of the team is guzzling cocks and spouting reddit memes.

The last few generations of CRT TVs were digital and had input processing lag like an LCD would, for noise filtering and shit like that. If one of your TVs was made in the 2000s (an HD CRT or one with a flat tube) then this is probably the case. In any case, out of those, I've only played Senran Kagura and Kirbo, but they ran perfectly fine on an O3DS. Later games, though, like Ace Attorney 6, were obviously designed around the N3DS. Are you sure can you not find a second hand N3DS? There are some you can find that have been refurbished and stuff, I can't imagine them going for more than $70.

Go for either an N3DS, N3DSXL or N2DS, and absolutely jailbreak it. Among other things you can force N3DS speed and it helps for some games. Assuming you actually want the Senran Kagura games they have framerate problems normally. 3DS has got a fun library but I primarily use mine for DS games with a flash card.

Not really, there's a few games with VR mods / hacks that are probably better than purpose made VR games, simfags are the ones that get the best of it for now.
Serious Sam and Rez are probably the highlight of what I've played because they keep the original gameplay (although SS has the shitty teleport thing if you choose to) but they're impossible to play for extended periods of time unless you're completely immune to motion sickness, if you're fine with 30 minute burst with pauses in-between then you should be good though

Yes, all trash, not even the best you can get for that cheap actually, but if you're not going in with a $750+ budget (OSSC + framemeister) you can forget about beating the internal processing of most LCDs nevermind the ones that are somewhat good at it like some earlier Sony models.

1. Don't run the game past native internal resolution. Try the above first, but if you're still getting variable framerates, then overclock the emulator by 10% and see how well it performs. If it's still choppy, then add another 10%, but just keep in mind that this may make the emulator unstable and prone to crashing.
Works on my machine™. I run the game at 1080p with x2 AA and x2 anisotropic filtering, looks fine and runs mostly well, I get the occasional framedrop here and there, but it's fine.

Most NTSC devs more or less ignored PAL and then hacked it in as an afterthought afterwards, because NTSC already got you the two biggest video game countries.

Emulating the USA version of DMC1 isn't a great idea because they remapped the controls from the JP version (which is the control scheme used for the rest of the series in all versions), and there's no way in-game to remap them. The HD Collection version of 1 fixed that problem, so any version of the collection is a good way to play it. For DMC3 the collection's version is fine, but both that and the other PC version have a small amount of input delay which is going to bother you once you try to get better. The emulated version of 3 also necessarily has a little input delay, but not as much as the PC versions, so I'd recommend just emulating that one. 4 and 5 both have great PC versions, so those are fine as well.

Symphony is the first and most polished in terms of production quality. Visuals and music are practically unmatched, and it's a giant game with all sorts of shit thrown at the wall, some stick better than others, but it stands out amid the rest of the castlevanias.
For the GBA games, I like Circle of the Moon and Aria of Sorrow, not so much harmony of disonnance. CotM is a love it or hate it kind of game, so is HoD. AoS is consistently liked by almost everyone and it's a really fun game which also introduces the coolest Belmont.
DS games, they're all great but I wasn't a big fan of Dawn of Sorrow. And that's it for the metroidvanias.
Mirror of Fate doesn't count and it's one of the worst games in the genre.

How does one break out of seeking perfection?
I think I've ruined Mega Man Zero 1, Azure Striker Gunvolt 1 and Valdis Story by this constant need of wanting to S-rank bosses, levels and the whole story(Valdis) but sucumbing to this feeling means I need to replay said bosses and levels multiple times or use retarded workarounds for second chances like reloading saves or alt-F4'ing in Gunvolt's case(because the port is garbage and you can't exit mid-stage) and it's driving me fucking crazy.
What's worse is that I was completely fine with something like DMC3, keeping the higher ranks and perfectionist runs until the later playthroughs because I realized I should be having fun first and attempting to rush gitting gud at the expense of having fun is a bad idea, I just can't seem to apply the same principle to these three games. Especially in the case of Valdis and Zero where S ranks means you get bonuses or get to see more content like harder boss patterns.

Weapons are always unbreakable and cut through anything outside of plot related armor, or other weapons and shields in movies and cutscenes. Until they can't, such as the Rebellion jobbing to a fucking punch. That is one of many issues with that fight, though. I very distinctly remember having a trial version of Journeyman Project Turbo on our old family computer. That I know came bundled.
But I also remember watching this trailer for Pegasus Prime, which is a remake of Project Turbo.

Might've been old RPG-maker games, more likely the ones that need you to install Run-time packages, RTP.
If you don't mind using up your time and being an autist about it, test some games yourself on using applocale while on ENG locale. As far as I know the main RCM exploit present in older Switches can only be patched if sent to Nintendo, not through firmware updates. I don't know whether there's any issues with using later firmwares with hacks however, or whether it's safe to. Like, I recall if a pirated game crashes, that's enough to trigger a ban. But definitely do your own research I haven't broken my Switch yet.
Obviously though if your Switch does not have the RCM flaw, you should keep it at 5.1.0 in case a software jailbreak materialises.
