Oh shit lads, another… R-Type game developed by not a single person involved with the original games and basically amounting to a company cashing in on intellectual property. Yay!
R-Type died in the early '90s when all the talent left IREM to form Nazca Corporation. Let it go lads.

but this also conflicts with the other thing they said which is that you can chose the difficulty level from the start, maybe there's an option to turn that feature off? anyways my wish list for this game is as follows
>pc release

>even more ships, i don't care if this fucks up the lore

It's a simple enough task to look up what I'm talking about. In the early '90s IREM management wanted to push them off arcade games and this upset most of its employees, causing them to leave and form another company. This company was Nazca Corporation, responsible for Metal Slug series and Neo Turf Masters. Although corporate management forced most of them to use pseudonyms and hide their own game credits while working at IREM, if you follow the bread crumbs in the high score menus for various games including R-Type you can find many of the same staff at Nazca Corporation.
The company effectively died right then and stopped publishing games for several years. Eventually they hired a bunch of new developers and starting raping their old IP with R-Type Delta–the reason why is plays so differently from previous R-Type games is because none of the people who actually came up with the original R-Type games had anything to do with it.

Oh and if there's any real continuity, Granzella is composed made by the Irem hacks behind R-Type Final, further illustrating my point that there is nothing at all to be excited about here.

Both games were absolute garbage tho
I especially remember the fall 2018 demo of Disaster Report 4 which was constantly running at 10fps on the basic PS4

I 100% cleared DR4+ on a basic PS4, it never had any problems the demo had. Hell the only problem I had with the game was that it didn't have as many options to be an asshole like 1 & 2.
It was closer to 3 just without the co-op mode.

1c9bc2 No.16317431
>>16317379
That's not how it works, at best you add a couple seconds to some already big downtime and none of the 3+ loops cannon are actually useful
Besides the wave cannon is only a crutch for boss quick kill (and even a detriment in some cases) or the thing you use if you're going for some precise score tricks that involve letting the boss live up until the scripted end of the fight if for some reason it can't be taken down just from force damage or it's more profitable to just score off the projectile/spawns (2.x and 6.1 comes to mind).

Unlocking some of the ships required at least two hours of play time with a single ship, and there were 101 ships, I think. While most didn't have those kind of requirements, when you get down to it, there is no way around playing it too much if you were trying to unlock all the ships.

I don't know if it's the arcade flyer. Seems to be an Amiga magazine ad. BTW that game was quite good on Amiga. Ditto with Saint Dragon. But my favorite shoot'em up on that platform is Hybris, which is kinda like Dangar: Ufo Robo. Try it sometime, if you have UAE.

You can just make your craft invincible with an ingame cheat and park it in the top left corner of the screen right before the stage 3 boss fight, and just do something else while the game keeps looping before the boss.

Interesting thread OP, I just played through R-Type III again this morning. Aside from that slowpoke first level, it was a wonderful experience full of cool level design and tight pacing. Unlike for instance that piece of crap R-Type Final. IREM is dead, don't fall for these cynical attempts to cash in on a once-great intellectual property.
