Fucking Wakfu:
>started as a really refreshing sandbox mmo
>had a tight knit community, all gold in the game had to be minted by mining for ore, resulting in conflict over veins and so forth
>game content had some problems but by and large was pretty good, zones had some neat background quests that weren't themepark shit but for the most part players are left to their own devices rather than themeparked
>great turn based combat system
>flash forward to now
>numerous major revamps to nearly all major populations have consumed vast swathes of development time and led to many players leaving in disgust
>multiple huge duping bugs also contributed
>all new areas are formulaic shit with stripped down 3-mob families, neat background quests from older content are almost entirely absent and formulaic themepark shit is the most common form of quest
>semi-regular area revamps generally strip down areas, the recent nation revamp in particular turning large, varied areas with lots of secrets and detail into tiny, boring, utilitarian shitholes
>the last update's only addition was an incredibly half-arsed "character customization" revamp, consisting of 6 shitty hairstyles for each gender that are the same on all classes, along with some changes to a level scaling dungeon system and some general small patches
>elephant in the room is the heroes system, which has been around for a few years and lets 1 person run 3 characters in 1 client, letting someone with 2 clients solo everything
>appeals perfectly to autistic whales, most others hate it, as exemplified by the fact dofus released a no-multibox server that is now heavily populated
To top all this off, Ankama's next game, Waven, is set to be their most antisocial "MMO" to date, it has an analogue to the heroes system baked in off the bat. And the only bossfight shown so far featured 4 players in isolated boxes fighting the same boss, so that while they all fight the same boss, they can't directly interact.
>great setting and artists
>shit games
>single player krosmoz tactics game never ever
>future "MMOs" set to become more and more antisocial
One Agincourt wasn't enough.
