"No thread in over a week" edition

>What the fuck is this shit

H&H is an survival MMO written in Java, published by two Swedes and held together by prayers and autism. You start naked and alone in the wilderness and must discover how to use the resources around to survive, building shelter, securing food, and always reaching towards higher stats, quality of life, and avoiding Russian kill squads. Growing crops takes literally real days, so mild planning and autism is a must.

>Sounds fun how do I play it?

Download the official client here to see if you like it:

http://www.havenandhearth.com

After fucking around with it for a bit, you might prefer a custom client, such as Amber, which basically makes you realize the vanilla client is unplayable shit:

Depends bit on how the devs decide to change the sieging next patch, but generally you can build stuff that people don't bother to tear down, especially with Realms that incentivize allowing people to live in your area, and even protecting them.

You can acquire a skill called Yeomanry, which lets you stake a claim and own land. In order to trespass, rummage, steal, attack, or destroy things, you need various PvP skills. The world's been up long enough that people are going to have PvP alts with the skills they need at any time, no problem.

However, a simple palisade on a claimed piece of land is enough to stop most potential griefers, unless you have a huge swath of land or a notable resource or are in a warring area

Alright, tell me about Credos. Right now I have Forager and almost maxed out Farmer. My plan was to originally get Mystic for the Scholarly Reports, which I figured would be very helpful endgame for LP/h increases without having to consume very many resources (good since I'm solo).

Right now, my plan was to get Gardener and/or Potter after Farmer, so I can grow Chiming Bluebells and Cavebulbs (my Psyche is almost caught up, however). Not sure what I should do.

I think you can see some taproots even with fresh spawn stats. getting exploration even to 4 should make them visible semi-reliably. You just need to walk around the forest terrain. Raising both Exploration and Survival is the immediate step to progress in the game. Exploration allows you to see more herbs and find easier ones more reliably. Survival will hardcap most forageables (clay is masonry.) and will increase crafting softcap on bushcraft/primitive tools and clothes.

1cbdcb  No.16310260

>>16310220

H&H is a survival game where you set your own goals. For some faggots they want to roleplay. For me, I like to chase after getting higher quality items so it's easier for me to get other items to higher quality.

You get XP for performing random actions. You study Curios to convert the XP into Learning Points. LP is then spent on skills (unlocks game actions and crafting trees), misc things, and abilities such as Exploration.

Forageables have a minimum value to appear (and do so randomly). You see them based on your Exploration * Perception stat, so try to raise them both evenly. You'll want about 20+ of each within a day or two.

Combat is difficult to explain, but attacks increase their openings which then scale your damage. Spamming Punch with 20+ Unarmed Combat (UC) is recommended for noobs, but even then you'll only defeat ants.

For your immediate goals, you should try to find a nice place to set up a permanent base. You will want to create a Personal Claim there, perhaps a house, and make a Study Desk as soon as possible, since it lets you study addition curios even while you're offline

f2489c  No.16311101

>>16310447

If you can acquire some food with good energy/hunger ratio like Roast Grasshopper. Or try to get FEPs on the side. If you don't have any metal yet then acquiring it can certainly be worth fucking up hunger for a while. If you already have meatgrinder, make Kebab from any meat you can acquire unless CON is already your highest attribute. Kebab has rather poor energy/hunger but has good FEP for 1% hunger. Try to get best possible table you can, even some wooden symbel can make a difference if you eat a lot.

Tip of the day: If there's a mountain with snow and Leafpatch biome areas near you, you can make Fruit Sorbet to raise INT. Works best before your max FEP is too high. Possibly combine with strawberries (bit hard to forage but can be grown in a pot) for variety. It does require sweetener (if you don't have honey you can use birch or maple sap but it might result in inferior version.)

I accepted his party invite which back then gave him full permissions without having to use toggle on adventure menu. There was zero warning about that nowhere, I actually added it to wiki after I complained about it on forums. Anyway he wasn't satisfied stealing my pearls and steel sword, he also had to bash half of my cupboards for good measure. If he had just taken inventory full of most valuable stuff and explained how he did that, I'd look back at this at almost completely positive learning experience. Well could be worse I guess, he could've just not say anything and leave me assuming he used crime skills and I couldn't see scents.
