Road Rage and Hit 'n' Run are the only two good games to ever be made.

What I'm actually surprised is that nobody ever tried to make some jRPG knock-off on a portable system using the Simpsons characters.

I never got this argument. It's crazy taxi with the added bonus of having simpsons characters do the driver/passenger interactions and a multiplayer game-mode. Why complain when it does it better?

I'd say Road Rage is the underrated gem of Simpsons games. Hit and Run is widely regarded as the best one and Road Rage was basically its prequel. Both games prove that simpsons games work best when adapted to open-world driving games. Between Springfield locations and the weirdly high number of different vehicles that have featured in the show the devs get a lot to work with.

I'm too lazy to download Hit and Run so what I do to is download Simpsons character skins and replace the GTA SA character skins with the Simpsons skins. BOOM, your very own Simpsons universe. Although you need to get used to the SImpsons being niggers.

The Simpsons are cartoony enough to work with any kind of genre you could think of. Hell, you could even make a World War 2 shooter using the Simpsons aesthetic. I can't really think of a vidya genre that couldn't be adapted to the Simpsons.

But yes, the games that are going to attract the attention of the public are the ones that let players explore Springfield.

I still watch it only to see the new chalkboard and couch gags. They're honestly the only creative thing left in zombie Simpsons. Besides there was one episode in last season where the entire opening changed where Bart ended up breaking his skateboard and had to walk home. The rest of the family ended up dying when trying to get to the house for the couch gag. Bart then comes back home alone and says "oh finally I get the remote" and the opening credits are shown.

But Principal and the Pauper doesn't say Skinner wasn't in Vietnam, just that his name wasn't Skinner at the time. Everyone gets way too fucking butthurt over that episode. It prevents that piece of shit Al Jean from getting the proper hatred that he deserves. As much hate as people give the couple seasons before he declared himself Showrunner for Life, as soon as he took over, the drop became much, much steeper.

As others have said, Arcade, Road Rage, and Hit & Run are good. Everyone acts like Hit & Run is better than Road Rage, but I strongly disagree. It's a jack of all trades, but master of none. Road Rage is the best Crazy Taxi game ever.

Hit & Run was a good game because it was a good game, that alone made it better than the show at the time. It was loaded with show references from the classic era because even the creators are aware that's the only relevant period.

I'm surprised Hurricane Neddy isn't disliked enough, to me it was a prototype version of the aforementioned episode by doing the same just to a lesser extent with Flanders's defining characteristics.

It had already been shown that Ned was raised by beatniks in an earlier episode(I think it was the one where he became the principal) so it wasn't that surprising. The Skinner thing just came out of nowhere and it undercut the relationship between him and his mother.

I started watching the original episodes, just finished s2, and realised I've already seen many of them as a child. I also fit in the first episode of s30…..wow it might aswell be a different show. If that episode is at all a representation of the new Simpsons then it really is a different show. It felt so different. So much celebrity culture. The episode had such a horrible flow to it, it felt so stitched together. Awful joke scene followed by awful joke scene.

The only two bad things I can think of about that game is the fact they make Smithers into some kind of main villain and the final confrontation with Mr. Burns takes waaaaay too many hits. Otherwise A+, absolute gem, exactly the kind of project a loicensed game should aim to be. Reminds me a lot of how Goldeneye transformed a spy thriller in a rootin tootin point n shootin, or how there's a way dope Les Miserables fighting game.
