This game is fucking great and I love it. 228 hours already in it. I've had it for a long time now and have at least 8 different games with different characters and play styles. Crossbows are insane when you're 1v1 or 1v2 but I'd prefer my Aryan Barbarian with a Plank for any big group fights. Nothing like a 150 damage horizontal swing removing 10 dudes arms when he goes ape shit to make you smile.
Also I adore the concept art in the loading screens, Skeletons are fucking bad ass.

The closest to western style armor mods would either be the crusader mod (which just adds a race skinned as crusaders and their armor is actually their mesh, not a separate item), or the Heavy Scrap armour mod, which has a more western-like cuirass with faulds and pauldrons, as well as a bucket helmet. Polearm wise, the closest thing to an up-to-date, still supported mod would be the Cross Polearm, which is like a poleaxe or halberd with a rectangular blade. Don't expect pikes or spears of any kind, because all weapon attack animations are focused on cutting/slashing, not thrusting.

I have a problem gents and it's really killing my desire to continue playing.
I've got my crack team of murder hobos capable of killing anything that moves, researched just about everything possible, got a legion of niggers to farm for me, and a good sized squad of skeletons to stay on guard/turret duty until the end of time. I prepared everything to build an impenetrable fortress and got down to work.
The problem is I grossly overestimated how much space I would need, picked the most massively oversized walls with a retarded huge gate and sectioned off far too big of an area and didn't regret it until it was too late.

Were it not for the last issue I would have just remade the walls, restructured the area, and called it good, but now I doubt that will fix my AI issues. They just stop what they're doing, find a spot in the middle of town and just stand there jerking off and nothing I do seems to be able to cure their masturbation habits. But now that I've decided to settle somewhere else, I have the intense tedium of having to liquidate every last building and furniture I made in my first location.
I just don't know if I should continue on or just start a new game at this point but I've already spent dozens of hours on this one. I just don't know if it's worth saving. In any case, learn from my mistakes and don't go overboard on the base-building.

I look at Kenshi and imagine that it is one of those game that I just don't have an actual affinity for.
Not that it is a bad game, but that I personally lack whatever the quality it is you need to enjoy it.
Like EVE, Space Station 13, Dwarf Fortress, Elona, Rimworld etc. I can hear just fantastic stories, but I don't know how to find enjoyment.

I felt the same way about the micromanaging. I stuck to using one guy for a while and got bored. Added more people. Learned how to keep them fed. Built a huge food surplus. Hired more people. Built more storage for food. Eventually built a small army of 30. Holy Nation got pissed at me because I had some non humans. Invasions begin. Survive repeated holy nation onslaughts and assorted other raids, barely surviving each time. Add defences, grow stronger. Eventually Holy Nation runs out of military leaders to send against me, and I'm allowed to breathe again.
Seriously addictive game. But if you decide to can the game after using one guy, do yourself a favour and hire more people first. I didn't think I'd like it at all, since I'm not into RTS games, but it's not hard to manage a lot of characters once you learn the game.

After a lot of building the navmesh will get messed up which destroys pathing AI in that area. Fix it by pressing CTRL+ALT+F11. That's fixed most of my problems.
If that doesn't work, it's likely because their inventory doesn't have space to pick stuff up (barrels of water, wheatstraw etc)
AI being screwed is almost always one of those two problems.

There's two skeletons in there with some insane fucking weapons and armor as well as like 10+ Thralls and 20+ Weak Thralls, I am rocking a party of 3 90-100 Stat chars and a bunch of nobodies. We wiped that place out easily, if you've got someone who uses a Plank absolutely give it a shot. Just save outside, clear out the bottom floor, take the guy's badass sword, and prepare for the same on the second floor. If you've got a party of like 6 dudes who are 40-65 in skills you can easily clear it out if they're using some big weapons like a Cross/Fragment Axe/Plank.

Sadly no, but there is an extensive amount of base building you can do. I've rarely touched my base due to the fact I'm rushing Tech at the moment. Purely because I stole a bunch of land from Okran and now am desperately trying to up my tech to get the best defenses to stop them from slaughtering me after I create my personal Library of Alexandria. Hence why most of my men are across the map in Hammer of Dawn territory instead of tending the fields like peasants.

I played for over 150 hours.
Training dummies only help out with your melee attack up to level 15 and melee attack only.
I tried having people trained unarmed to train their martial arts too but only melee attack went up.
Eventually you're gonna have to go out and kick some ass and get your ass kicked, but at my current level things are getting a little slow. Last time I played I started having skirmishes with the western hive in order to raise my squads general level, I just dont want to be out there wasting time when I can be gaining exp and POWER in a much better way.

This is the closest I could find to an airship but it doesn't move. The game doesn't have the ability to move buildings and so I don't think there'd be any means of actively making an actual airship mod. As well, the pathing would be extremely difficult to reconfigure as well considering what engine this game is on. Apologies, anon, but there are no airships in sight that I can see.

I had a guy who was using a Ringed Saber with Taunt and Block to keep aggro on the spiders while everyone else took turns running in to get a stab and running away. Took a while, but seeing three dudes run into an army of 50+ enemies and limbs just go flying is fucking worth it.

You can build generators, but without a reliable way to make fuel you'd be reliant on buying your power. You can also build small wind generators on top of buildings which is effectively free power but inconsistent.
The free power also works the other way if there's already a power deficit in the town you're living it. Mourn will siphon your power to power their iron drills and turrets for instance.

Mourn has a problem that it's population doesn't natively respawn so it will eventually depopulate over time. It's a really nice place to live early on, especially since you can easily just steal thousands of skeleton repair kits from the travel vendor and sell them to the wandering vendors or the bar on the other side of town for mad cash. I made myself a millionaire very quickly that way. It also has free training dummies if you can make it past the great white gorillo hanging out in the lab. It's just not a great place to set up long-term since the constant beakthing and spider raids will eventually whittle the place into a ghost-town.

TBH one of the best places I found to set up shop if you're not looking to build your own outpost is Black Scratch in the outlands. It's a tech hunter controlled city so you don't have to deal with UC cunts or Holy Nation throwing a fit. Tech Hunters don't give a fuck about you so you're pretty much free to do whatever the fuck you want in your house. There's a Y-House available for purchase which is one of the largest houses you can buy and a cuckshed immediately adjacent to it if you still needed more space for some reason. The town already has an abundance of power so you can just tap in. It also has several vendors there including the great library for easy restocking research materials, and a robotics vendor that frequently stocks masterwork quality parts. A few of the vendors are open 24/7 as well. It's not far from Brink, a UC town if you had some business with them for some reason, and decently close to the Black Desert City as well. If you take out the Reaver captain at Ark, the worst you'll have to deal with are grass-pirates which are only marginally more dangerous than starving bandits, but the city guard are more than capable of dealing with either anyways.
All in all it's a real comfy place to set up.

Turtles in the swamp are relatively harmless. They'll still probably kick your ass but since they're herbivores they'll stop kicking your ass once it's on the ground. You just have to worry about the other beasts and bandits lurking in the swamp.
Alternatively starving bandits and outlaw farmers in the great desert are also about as pathetic as you can get. but you'll have a harder time finding just one to pick on.

About fighting enemy slaves from the Nobles, Reavers, any others I may not remember that use Slaves to fight you: If you have high STR you can just run up and break their shackles pretty much instantly and they'll run off or fight their former owners, very easily turns the tide of the fight by instantly removing potential foes and even converting some to allies. I love doing this just to make them flip out about it.

That's basically what I did to get Savant. Had a two man team of a human ultra ninja and a mediocre skeleton. Ran all the way to the skinhouse hq and had my skeleton scout out the skin bandits, waited until he went to bed, then I stole a skinsuit as a disguise and ran back out and grabbed my ultra ninja and carried him into the camp (pretending to have captured him) took him into Savant's room and just grabbed him and took off running stealthed as fast as I could. My skeleton was able to leave less quickly. But I had him. Stole all his specialist gear and his legendary nodachi and ran him all the way to the left and turned him in for 80,000c.

I thought it was weird at first, but I've come to really appreciate the combat system. It fits a post apoc setting like nothing else I've ever experienced. I've never seen a game so passionately simulate the experience of being beaten within an inch of your life, being thrown into a ditch to die, then, slowly regaining conciousness even though you should have been long dead, barely patching yourself together and clawing and biting your way out of the ditch and back to safety, and making a full recovery. It's a kind of badass that's usually glanced over for the flashy "can take down anybody" kind of badass.

Truth is, Leviathan coast is the most secure place in all the continent. Fertility is 100green 50 arid, there´s always wind at 50% strengh meaning you will never have to use batteries, garrus and beak niggers are in constant fight each other so you´ll have a infinite supply of meat and skins, there´s good mining spots for stone and iron but copper… not so much but you can make a copper base on one of the few nodes without turrets because the only faction that will raid you are the cannibals and they will always target your main base and they are squishy as hell so no matter the numbers they send Except if you instal the cannibals expanded mod AKA gigga nigga edition.
But like i said it´s a place too safe, so maybe it will become boring, not the best place to make your first base thought because if you don´t have a team of 12 warriors at level 30 you´ll never survive the cannibals, and if not the cannibals they will be the beak niggers, and if your squad are more than 3 guys, any lone leviathan will get agressive and attack you, so you need to build walls ASAP.

Second, i´ll give you some advice about 5 places for a base:

Is where i usually put my first base, mainly to begin training against raids and stuff so my characters can level up, my suggestion is to get mercenaries to hepl you at first since you can take care of starving/dust bandits and the usual ninja%red sabre at first but there´s the band of bones/Black dragon raids that can be a bit hard so free the mercs on them.

See the mark on the map, this is the FUN place if you put your base. Is on a crossroad, so you´ll be attacked by starving/dust bandits, and then the shek kingdom will make you a visit for taxes, and then the band of bones, black dragon ninjas, dust king approved bandits raids and Kral´s chosen And if you defeat the Bugmaster, the berserkers will show up tecnically, non stop attackers.

This is a secure zone if you have a full human squad, since there´s always holy patrols they will engage against every starving/dust bandit raid and the black dragon ninjas too… But be careful the sundays :^)

This is the COMFY zone since it looks nice and you can make your base with a swimming hole, you´ll be assaulted only by starving/dust bandits but probably they will be eaten by the local wildlife, if you don´t make walls they will eat you first.

You´ll need a high trained squad to survive here and pray for first visitor to be the crab raiders, and better be ready to win the four rounds of the crab tournament so you´ll make allies with them so they can help you against the other 3 really dangerous factions around here. If you´re fucking ready, thic could be the FUN zone

When attacking bare handed, you train martial arts but not attack skill
if you use doc changas to always defend, toss him out of the group, and keep knocking yourself into punching his blade too much, he will cap defense at 26~ and everyone will keep getting martial arts like crazy, eventually they all start hitting him too much and the training stops

This is where things go to hell real fast; we DRAMATICALLY underestimated the number of Paladins, High Paladins, and other soldiers in the inner complex. After storming the barracks, guards streaming in from the Holy Temple cut off our escape, resulting in the enslavement of the entire group.
As the whole gang is lined up to be shuffled off to the slave camp, they remember their training, and focus on the 1000kilos of iron ore they ran across the desert with.

The entire squad flexes and the shackles explode off their arms and legs! Stunned by the sheer beauty of the scene, a few wounded paladins are caught off guard and go down with a punch to the face while the wounded are shouldered, and they all make a break for it.
The post-battle assessment is that we will require ranged weaponry to avoid getting caught up in these tight-space combat situations where only 2 guys can fight at a time. Several old-world bows and an Eagle's Cross have been procured for training.

Hungry bandits and maybe vagrants will steal your food if they down you though which costs time and cats. I'm currently doing a no-mining or base-building playthrough because I spoiled myself just mining copper all game until I could buy the best gear. I started off farming river raptors (getting downed often) until I had enough money from their hides to buy decent armor and weapons, then moved on to skinner's roam for hungry bandits + dust bandits, then cleared out the dust bandit king in the border zone and that's where I'm at.
This is by far the most fun playstyle for me. Base building is almost an exploit with how unchallenging and rewarding it is. Unless you piss off the holy nerds and they come to slap your shit.

About a month ago I had almost exactly the same start, but I was in the ruined waystation in venge of all fucking places. Going into borderlands was impossible as too many bandits fucking everwhere. After a couple of tries I made it to Brink and finally to Black Scratch.. I stayed there for quite a while with level1 scrubs, mined until I could buy the 2 houses, mined until I could research, mine until I could buy scheematics. Looted the reavers and glass pirate assholes who tried to distrupt my mining, all due to help at first, later was able to actually fend those fuckers off. Eventually I looped through the northern desert cities and west to worlds end and finally into Mongrel, have never once been in the borderlands or holy nation territory. By the time I did see anything in those 2 zones they got fucking slaughtered, paladins included as I had nonhumans in my squad. Really one of the most favorite runs I've had.

What I might do is try and Import the game after I go back to the fucking crater where his tooth-collecting ass is located (I seriously don't wanna go back to that fucking place but whatever.) and import in the tower. I enjoy this game but I keep getting defeated by bugs. Try to collect a bounty with a corpse and the game crashes, then the corpse I was carrying isn't in my saves. Unlock a new tech tier, expand my outpost a bit and now everything just spawns inside the walls. One of my girls gets kidnapped by slavers and disarmed so I fight this long battle against them… and none of the corpses have her weapons. Hauling is just fucked, set a faggot to auto-haul armor and throw armor on the ground and nothing. I disarmed and disrobed a raiding party thinking I was smart and now there's shit everywhere and no one is cleaning it up. Calling this 1.0.x and putting the profits towards the next game is a shame, a little more work on this and it would be truly great.

So yesterday I learned that the swamps don't give a shit about crime, and found a new method of making money. If you're just starting off like I did, buy a house in the swamp village in the Northeast section, super cheap (4000 kats) I saw that there were rice fields all over, but didn't think I could take rice without consequence. I was wrong. You can queue people to work rice fields, and even though it lists the rice as 'stolen' it's not considered a crime to sell their own crops back to them. I found that I make even more money by cooking it. Because of its location, groups pass by often, and get eaten by bloodspiders. Their gear can be stolen and sold no problem. Thus is the tale about how my group became literal riceniggers

Making it takes some high tech and a functional base. Early on you can just run it. But it from the swamps and sell it elsewhere. Either take it to the tech hunters who don't mind drug smuggling, or join the shinobi thieves and use their vendors to smuggle it anywhere.
