>Moon Crystal
A more slow paced NES platformer that's kind of a middle point between a traditional and cinematic platformer. It was made on the last days of the system's life and it shows in the great animation of the sprites and good soundtrack.
>Maldita Castilla
Indie Ghouls N' Ghosts homage made by a couple of spaniards. It's hard but not cheap, and lives up to the classics.
>SMW Romhacks
There are some great ones like "The Essence Star", "Sicari Remastered" the "Second Reality Project" duology, and the last two Vanilla Level Design Competitions (8 and 9). There's also a Fangame in development called "Super Mario Flashback" that looks pretty nice
>Dustforce
Go play that game right now if you haven't.
>Cave Story and Kero Blaster
Both classics by Daisuke Amaya. Cave Story is a Metroid style game with feels and Kero Blaster is way more straightforward. I'd be surprised if you haven't played at least Cave Story yet
>Metroid
"Metroid Rogue Dawn" for NES and "Hyper Metroid" for SNES are fucking great romhacks, you should play them if you liked the originals. Also, there's AM2R if you still haven't played it.
>Volgarr The Viking
A Ghouls N' Ghosts/Rastan inspired platformer with great level design and difficulty.
>Mega Man games
Aside from the NES classics, there are nice romhacks like "Minus Infinity" and "Rockman CX", as well as fangames like "Megaman Unlimited". Also don't forget that MegaMaker exists and CORRUPTED NEVER EVER
>>16208000
>The Magical Pop'n Autist came back
>And with fucking trips
G-d bless you, dear anon.
