So, I haven't played a proper JRPG since probably Final Fantasy 9. I finally got around to playing Lost Odyssey and it really hit the spot. Really a polished game with fantastic music. I think it's probably the most enjoyable JRPG I've ever played.

What game should I play next?

Dragon age origins

Divinity original sin 2

Baldurs gate 2

FF7 (does this still hold up?)

JRPGs were a necessary cancer in the early stages of gaming so the other types with good gameplay could actually be made they take don't make use of the medium of video games and lose all of what made the original tabletop RPGs they're based off of so good, the unique ability for "anything" to happen because you're interacting with other people who could just change things around in the setting/story to accommodate for whatever insane bullshit you plan/do
