>Because the citizens are celebrating my every plane crash

Wouldn't you do the same if you were on their place?

7b957c  No.16193782

The game's transportation works in "get cargo from A to B" fashion, which kills any fun there may be in trying to build a passenger network between towns, since everyone who got into your bus will always get off at the next stop. There's somehow less depth to passenger trains than there is to industrial ones, since unlike humans, wheat and diamonds actually have specific destinations they want to get to.

I recently discovered Simutrans and realized that it was the vastly superior game.

>passengers have destinations and require the player have a large transport network before they use it

>industries require workers and power and there are ways to supply them both

>larger default industry chains

>cliffs

>can rotate the camera

>animated citizens on footpaths

>multiple biomes in a single map

>road vehicles with trailers

>a fork that increases the gameplay detail significantly

<track building is a step down from openttd

<nowhere near the level of support that openttd recieves

There's also now an Open Locomotion, although the base game was oversimplified, it's track building and visual quality is quite a step up.

did, eventually realized planes are superior profit machines, then realized how i never stick to sandbox games because they are what you make them and i suck at that

i think it was either this or factorio that taught me how train signals work

f28480  No.16195496

This game is unplayable without magic dozer enabled.

>try to build train station

>can't buildings in the way

>blow up building cause trains are more important

>can't build station anymore

or

>tryin to build railroad

>can't terrain is a shit

>level it out

>can't build railroad anymore

What were your problems, the only thing I don't like is track building, the game requires a bit of reading before you play, you can't just pick up coal anywhere and drop it off at any steelworks or powerplant, these places already have arranged contracts and all resources have a pre set destination, you can't just start transporting passengers, you need to build a network that links together multiple parts of towns and then multiple towns together.

c57ce6  No.16195742

>>16195718

Clumsy general interface and the network play support was total garbage (desyncs + truly awful chat interface) when I tried it. By the way you can get the same destination-oriented gameplay that Simutrans offers with the CargoDest OpenTTD patch which has been around for a while.

1da6e7  No.16195780

>>16195742

I haven't played it online yet, I'd imagine online play would be hell just because it's nowhere near as lax as OpenTTD, it's very strict on routing, you need to work optimally to make a decent profit. It also doesn't have factories endlessley produce goods, you need to drain production to the end point or it will stop requesting new resources completely stalling your lines. The game offers many basic features that OpenTTD just doesn't offer, like being able to rotate the camera, a day/night cycle, and more detailed terrain editing, as well as the ability to build above and below ground, although I haven't actually figured all of that out yet. There's even a far greater timespan starting with horses and carts, new industry types are added over time too. The game at it's base seems overall superior, but I haven't played it online, the soundtrack is grating as fuck as well. You should give it another try.

advice: get a service running to build good will from the municipality.

Reworking land/road/building is allways going to take a toll on reputation.

You can also simply bribe (to an extent) if my memory serve me right.

I personnally love to help megacity development, and using subways in the process, which require a land at least 2 tiles high.

it's feasible without any magic tool, but it takes effort, and patience.

094627  No.16206251

>>16193555

Because if you want to succeed you have to build trains and I would rather create a trucking company but trucks are worthless so fuck it.
