It's well-known that the site is basically controlled by a relative handful of SJW "power-users" who will ban any opinions they don't like. Even with every bit as much historical dirty laundry as this site, maybe even moreso, the fact that they have control of the site makes them overlook this and consider it an "acceptable" forum.
Then you have this site. Most rules are established on a by-board basis. The global rules basically equate to "Don't post shit that violates federal law (e.g. CP). SJWs can't wrest control on free-speech sites because they'll either be chased out by the userbase (who were, in many cases, pushed out of SJW sites themselves), or the userbase will quickly emigrate to the next site. Sticking to the principles of free speech effectively minimize the risk of a site being co-opted, although it's not impossible, on paper.

I have the thing that is called the super heated water vapor and I buy more games than I should. I bought a game for .49 cents and it is fun. There are a bunch of solo devs and hundreds of small team(2-3 people) devs on steam selling directly to consumers/ethusiasts. games that havent been made yet that many people search for on a daily basis. I search alot of villian protagonist games.
The question is do you want to get rich or do you want to make a cool game that you would want to play? if you do the second often you get the first but if you do the first then often not the second.
the easier it gets to make the nuts and bolts of a game the more the focus will be on game play and content. sure you can throw money at it and make it look fancy but where is the game play? they can buy every single journo and magazine and website and people will still tell each other if they game they bought was crap. they can't pay to fix the consumer no matter the ad dollars and the mountain dew tie ins.
back in the day it was the box art and the copy. maybe a full page ad in compter gaming monthly.
