Going back and watching the original trailer has me hyped as fuck. I'm really hoping this turns out well. They are not shying away from anything here - we've got a dead 5ish-year-old, a school shooting, and sex trafficking, combined with some absolutely stellar gore. I started writing up my thoughts on how it could be structured but then realized that yeah, there isn't enough footage at the beginning to match things like drumbeats to the ram hitting the door. I recall Angels Fall First being in development for 7 years. At the end of the day they were an indie company working on the game whenever they had time between their day jobs. Meanwhile, Void Interactive tries very hard to be AAA with high quality graphics and animations. I remember Serellen Interactive attempted to make a spiritual successor to SWAT4, and a lot of people were pissed. Takedown Red Sabre was a horrible mess and Epsilon was mildly alright SP game. Let's not also forget H Hour was supposed to also be a spiritual successor to SOCOM series which also failed eventually.
Businesses tend to play things safe, so I'm going to assume that is partially the reason why they would pander to Reddit? Their communities tend to be much larger than half-chan or Infinity, no? Otherwise, do let me know if this is flawed thinking.
I rather Ready or Not stay "vaporware" like this until they are sure they can present a solid game. First impressions (in terms of playing the final product) are important. Let's not forget about the failed early access launch of WW3 game as well.

There's this one mindset among developers that I think is what ultimately leads to all of these things like a developer refusing to publicly release their SDK, to their creating on-disk DLC, and to their banning people for not playing the way they're "supposed" to (as in Anthem and Fallout 76) - the mindset that games don't exist for players to do whatever they wish with them, that games are supposed to be prevented from being understood, experimented with and ultimately made better by their players, and that the things you do with your software are to be considered criminal (and literally so in the case of on-disk DLC) if they're not something the developer expressly "authorises."
That mindset is the most important thing in all of this to me and it's that mindset that I really object to for its being the root cause of all of this, even though I do consider each of the different kinds of manifestations of that mindset to still at least be very serious red flags for a game and for its developer.

So I knew almost nothing about this game prior to watching the trailer. I knew, of course, that it was basically in the same vein as SWAT or a less arcadey Siege, but nothing much past that. And after watching the trailer I have to say I'm entirely unimpressed. Gameplay looks like nothing noteworthy, graphics are just okay and the sound design is rather underwhelming. They're going to have to make damn good progress in the next year if this is to be anything worthwhile.
