That happened at that big pre-release tournament. Several months later she was nerfed into the dirt.

All in all, I think EVO is just shooting themselves in the foot here. Why would they drop such a profitable, highly watched game? From a financial point of view it doesn't make sense.
That said, melee won't care. They'll just make a separate tournament and keep on playing. Melee should be dropped when it doesn't generate any profit anymore. All in all, Project M is way better than melee and makes me sad big tournaments are profit-based instead of community based. Project M is so good, god damn.

Smash has a lot of extra costs compared to others, like they have to pay extra for their CRTs and the man power to use those units.
Evo normally has it's monitors covered by sponsors but smash is the game where they have to shell out a lot extra on.
There was also a lot of shitting on my rug interactions with Evo with melee where they'd constantly make demands for their game and cause ruckus over petty shit like being past their bed times or not the day they want. If Tekken was removed, very few would drop EVO based on that. It's got standard singleplayer stuff like Arcade, Survival, Time Attack, Score Attack, Mission (combo training), Training as well as the best Tutorial mode out of any Fighting game I've played so far. If you're interested primariliy in the story it has a Chronicles mode as well which basically a bunch of mini Visual Novels told from the perspective of each of the characters that does a good job of establishing the setting/world (IIRC it took me like 15 hours to read all of it) I really like the menu tune for it as well. It acts as a prequel to the Arcade mode story, which has a couple quick VN style interactions with the characters and then they fight. I had around 80 hours just with single player content, but I also fucked around alot in Training mode so maybe I don't know like 70 hours of single player stuff.

Some top-tier characters only use one attack (Jigglypuff's kick) or infinites (Ice Climbers) at top-level play. It's just shit to watch and there's only so many times you can watch Fox v. I can't even Wavedash and I still know it's the superior title. Everything after it looks so goddamn ugly, feels floaty and awful to control, and completely assaults your senses with screen shake and massive particle effects that prevent you from knowing what the hell is even going on half the time. Winning in Ultimate feels like dumb luck instead of any sort of skill. Final Smash cutscenes break the flow of gameplay constantly too.
The EVO thing is whatever though, naturally they are going to roll with the games that publishers are paying them to promote, and there is no money to be had in promoting Melee.

The reason why you might think melee players smell, even if you have never gone to a tournament in your life which I know none of you niggers have, is because everyone sweats absurd amounts while playing. Everyone I know that goes waits until the last possible moment to shower before leaving. Most get prescription strength antiperspirant. No shit, evo covers a ton of games. Bit announcements get made. It's basically a show and convention for the genre as a whole. That has nothing to do with what you said you dumb nigger, they do arrange tourneys and making up the secone biggest game at evo is a massive fuck up the size of Sony missiny e3 2019 and metro being epic games store exclusive. There are many reasons to shit on a good part of the (((competitive scene))) and the (((playerbase))). Those details still have nothing to do with the fucking games.
There is a ridiculous proportion of people in the shitty "Smash community" who just mindlessly repeat the same shit about [insert smash game here] that they remembered from the latest JewTube video they watched, as if what a few people did, or what they said, meant fuck all. I'm talking about not mentioning more than five words about wanting to play any Smash game for fun without someone listing things that happened at tournaments or "game-breaking glitches" that some e-whore said and thinking anyone gives a shit. It's shit being flung from all directions. Melee is the first target for this sustained ridicule, but definitely not the only one.
I'd argue that every Smash game after 64 was a mistake, but that's beside the point.
