They're scary because a lot of their lore implies they're more beast then man, and their shapeshifting is unstable at best. Spoke with this one gasoline chugging native who put it pretty well, their disguise is shifting like sand on the wind, and they hunger for flesh, either to feast upon or to add to their growing collection of disguises.

I want a skinwalker vidya. There's an RPG Maker (or maybe it was Game Maker) walking simulator, but unsurprisingly, it's shit. A Wendigo is a lot different than a skinwalker. Skinwalkers are just evil sorcerers in reality. Wendigo are wacked out weird things and each one varies in their stories. Only Western equivalent I can think of is Chaos Daemons from Warhammer 40k.
