Arcane really is the best stat in the game, and I don't even feel upset because it's still fun being a crazy man running around with a torch up until the kin start showing up, but I look at bloodtinge and I wonder why it's even there sometimes; if they wanted to, skill could just be the stat that makes guns better too, but they made a gun-magic stat for this game, and for some reason, the parry, which does blood damage, doesn't scale with the thing that initiates the parry, meaning if you want to make using the gun viable, it's less of a hassle to just get a high skill stat and a good blood gem, and then slot a thrust weapon up. I really want to make a bloodtinge build, but I feel like I'm going to have a hard time justifying not using arcane as well, since with just about 30 arcane in the early game you can wipe out everything with a level 3 torch, around level 26 alone.

That was just to prove that it can be done with less stat investment than other weapons at a lower reinforcement than you would need, when you get to the endgame with a tonitrus you start blitzing the shit out of people, on top of that everything can be made an arcane based weapon if you slot a gem with an elemental damage type, and as long as you're fighting an enemy weak to that type, you're going to be doing around the same damage a pure strength build could, and in fact, if you decide to pair it with your collection of arcane magics and level up in a stat that adds to the number of weapons you can use, you start seeing great returns with weapons that use dual scaling with strength or skill or bloodtinge and arcane

After the second boss, you'll eventually arrive in front of a big door with two guards holding crosses. You'll want to go left. Do it BEFORE fighting the third boss if you want it to be easier. After the third boss and after the cutscene that plays, knock on a few doors and get a key item, can't remember what. Then you'll take the other path. You'll go past two hunters and a few other enemies. Wait in front of the door.
Also, when leaving the church, go out the small door and go left. Be careful around the area, but there's a fairly large area there you'll want to explore. Get good at parrying.

You mixed up the first two endings. The first ending has Gehrman beheading you so that you can wake up to experience dawn; this makes Wetnurse the final boss. I've recently started a ARC build (main weapon is Fire Whirligig) and I'm playing offline. Anyone know reliable places to get good Fire, Bolt and Arcane gems?
So far, I'm getting the radial Fire gems (cursed) from Pthumeru mooks, I'll be getting the radial Bolt from the fish sorcerers in the DLC and no clue where to get the Arcane ones. Special shapes like Waning and Triangle all get from Loran and Isz, naturally.
This build is dogshit at the start, feels like I can't commit to anything because I'll need alternate gem slot weapons and sometimes I have to rely on a weapon with physical gems that I'm using with minimal requirements. ARC feels either very strong or very weak with no in-between.

The true potential of arcane is unlocked when you mix up tools into your fight style; hunting sometimes boils down to using Auger to stunlock bosses intensely. I suggest getting 20 in str and skl, 99 arc, and a nice mix of stamina and health so you actually last against the depth 5 enemies.

Any dungeon with watchdog of the old lords is going to have some good fire gem drops from him, Pthumerian descendants and elders have a chance of giving some really strong gems, any boss that is kin or beast type will also drop some hefty elemental gems (high drops on elemental bloodgems from brainsucker bosses, silverbeast bosses, possessed beast bosses, Ebrietus, celestial comisar, Almond head, Puurl, etc.)
You basically just need to keep dungeon diving until you find a root that houses all the things you want, keep the chalice open, and copy the glyph to another headstone to keep repeating the gains until you're stacked.
My advice is to get some good elemental gems, slot a weapon, stick to it, and then slowly work your way up to gather more gems that encompass the weaknesses of your enemies.

I'm capping at 120, need some survivability to go with everything. It's not about the multiplayer meta, just a OCD thing, got every other build there. I know I could have settled for a starting weapon but I never used the pizza cutter all that much (my STR character was more about the Wheel and Kirk).

Got stuck on that asshole for at least an hour. He breaks the golden rule of "The more bs the boss is, the easier it is to get to him.", instead you gotta run past a mob of feminists and a midget shooting AIDs-covered spitballs at the back of your head. Anyway, Logarius is a cunt that basically hugs the wall/edge of the roof everytime you try to take a swing at him. At one point, I couldn't break his phase 2 buff because of that shit and just peaced out off the roof. Then you get to phase two and he literally does the magic sword shit five times in a row or just says "fuck it!" and clips it through a spire where you can't hit it.
He was single-handedly harder than anything else so far (main game near done, haven't started DLC besides suicide-rushing the Whirligig and at third Pthumeru chalice right now).

Admittedly this is my second ARC build and will be tool-focused (while my first is 30 STR - 50 ARC weapon-oriented).
My plan is 40-45 Vig / 20 End / 18 Str / 12 Skl (Whirligig minimals) / 5 Blt / 70-75 Arc
Runes are Clockwise (+10% HP, Anti-Clockwise (+15% stamina and Formless Oedon (+4 bullets).
Weapons are Fire Whirligig, Bolt Cane and the Parasite for Arcane. So far, only have a maxed Uncanny Whirligig and a +6 common Cane with Tempering gems. I might also max my regular Whirligig and farm the DLC Winter Lanterns for +22% Physical cursed droplets for it.

Yeah, this is the big problem of offline play. It's a roll of the dice until we find something good but ARC does have the advantage of offering a different gem farming experience besides doing Ihyll over and over.

Call Beyond is situational, it's great with large enemies and bosses you can get under, for ones that it's not good against, that one tentacle magic spell, the Auger of Eberitas is actually really good, does insane damage for it's cost and also acts as a gun parry thing, with good ranged hitbox and tracking, staggers well, and also has a long hitbox time.
Blacksky Eye is more for quick ranged damage.

This is what I did two years ago it was worth it for me. Now the dvd drive crapped out and I bought bb again from psn just now. I'm extremely frugal and get nauseous at the though of wasting money, I'll hand-wring for days over whether or not a game is worth my money and always end up using an alternate procurement method that doesn't involve shekels, but bb I repurchased without a moment's hesitation. Easily the best and most complete game for me this generation. Wish it was on PC though, playstation and ps+ are shit.

Starting to get decent Fire gems and it's beginning to show and, once more, ARC really has no middle term though in this case it was for the best - Bloodletting Beast, a usual thorn on my side, got cleanly killed like a two bit scrub, even the Beast-Possessed Soul in Loran was harder.

Dreams in Bloodborne are Lovecraftian not Inception. They're essentially real places that can be created through dreaming but if the person dies the dream still stays. The Nightmare of Mensis is an example, when Mikolash the Host of the Nightmare dies the dream still continues, same if you kill the Moon Presences who created the Hunter's Dream.

There's a sweetspot you have to be in; not too close, not too far, right in that middle area, and the boss can't be wiggling around. I killed orphan by walking over to this one rocky formation on the right side of his arena, just out of his agro range, used bloodbullets every time I did it, and got to use it 3 times before he'd rush me down, every time. That took out a good chunk of his health, and as I had moments where he'd back out to do some weird attack I'd rear up for another.

What can ya do? The call of the 'tism is too strong. I'm currently in my NG cap of Lv70 (30 Vit and 35 Arc) and doing surprisingly well, Fire Whirligig shredded every bootyhole in the DLC (Maria was the hardest so far only because she killed a few times with a blink-of-an-eye combo) and I've done every chalice but Ihyll and Isz (doing Isz atm) which is new for me, my previous record at chalice clearing was Lv90. That said, I'm starting to think that instead of a Bolt Cane, I should have made a second Whirligig and put Bolt on it, that thing gets really good numbers for its B ARC scaling.
