So I was thinking, games that the original dev/publisher don't care about any more (for example Champions Online) have been bought by new devs before to continue their life span. I assume buying dropped game would be far cheaper than making your own. There are quite a few games that had/have a fanbase but the devs just dropped (Tribes Ascend, Unreal Tournament, ect). How realistic would it be for a group of devs to buy a dropped game and update it? Would people donate to a (((Kickstarter))) to help fund such a processes?
