Lol retard, its an exact port of the Sonic 06 stage. They aren't showcasing the level. They are showcasing the engine which allows you to replay your favorite stages from the 3D games with a roster of over 30 characters and unlimited slots for extras. It also has every enemy from every Sonic game and every special move for every character. Time, dedication and extreme autism went into this project, and it will always be better than anything sonic team will shit out.
Sonic World in itself is not a fangame so much as it is an engine that replicates the Adventure physics and gameplay, and allows people the choice of reliving nostalgia with better physics and more open level design. There are also custom stages and ways to make your own stages, along with remakes of classic stages in full 3D, and a feature that allows you to make 2D levels aswell.
Its a love letter to the Adventure fans, when Sonic Team did nothing but shit on the downtrodden, broken and abused middle-child for years.

The Sonic World R9 release has about 12 stages with it, and 50+ more you can download. The only good stages are the ports. The customs are kinda assy. I would just wait for Sonic World DX tbh and then download the stages.

Not really no. It's got some small improvements here and there in terms of controls but overall it's just R9 with a fresh coat of paint. That HUD is absolutely hideous too. Get back to me when World isn't just SA1 but slightly less clunky. And when the levels don't look like hot garbage. Only thing this engine has going for it is the sheer amount of content; most of which isn't good. Modernfags like it because it has "muh characters" and that's about it.

Sonic World had some fucking problems but mastering the movement and stage layouts felt golden. One of the first things I'm noticing in this video is that there either is no mid-air slide leading into an additional jump for extended Sonic air mobility, or the player just didn't show it off.
Either way, I'm excited for it. The Sonic World drama was hilarious, but I'm genuinely glad that the new team (seemingly) has their shit together.
