When the PS1 was the main machine Sony would release top selling games as Platinum releases. If it sold enough copies they would release it at half price a little while after. These became a great source for top quality games at low prices. Most people's collections would be made up of Platinum games and it drove down the secondary market costs immensely too. These days you get a full price DLC included rerelease a year later and no budget options at all. Lets go back to the better days and discuss our favourite budget titles. Doesn't have to be a second rate game, just a game you got for cheap and loved.

Outside the simple series are there other similar series of budget game labels? I specifically mean low budget games, not re-releases like Player's Choice or Greatest Hits.

This looks silly and fun, I think I'd love it.
I recently found a copy of 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand for $3 in a bargain bin at this little used game store in my town. Niggers chimp out over not getting gibs for a concert in not-Iraq. I actually had a lot of fun playing it since the gameplay was surprisingly okay for what it was, and the insanity of it all made it hilarious.

I think the best thing about this game were the little pickups that floated around like in a Lego game. Stuff like that really adds to the enjoyability to what would otherwise be wall crouching shit.

Shame it's one of the lesser known titles from the series and that godawful Bad Company Vietnam DLC gets all the spotlight.
It had some really great stuff like, helicopters which were a first for the series, air lifting vehicles from Helicopters, a great 60s music soundtrack from helis everyone could hear and which you could set your own music, traps you could set up and in the map design itself and a tunnel system.

My nigga, Bfv was my favourite battlefield of all time, American faction getting all the heavy tech, heli's, great selection of land vehicles, vietcong getting diggable spawn points to counter and poweful rpgs, more accurate rifles with the ak47. Had so many fond memories of playing this, roleplaying as Martin Sheen in Apocalypse now on the PT boat through the water ways, shooting up gooks with the .50 cal turrent gun. Music blaring

>for tribes 1
Does that really exist? I have played Air Assault, which I picked up from a bargain bin in college for shits and giggles. It was worth it for the Mega Man 1 tier cover art alone, but I was honestly amazed to find that it was a competent port. Instead of shying away from aim assist, they embraced it fully, knowing that it would be virtually impossible to track moving targets in a game like Tribes using a joystick. The result is an entirely unique console shooting experience that I haven't seen since and that I wish was the standard for console shooters not that I'd prefer them over PC.
Also, sorry for the cam shot but believe it or not that's the highest resolution image of the front cover I could find.

I never bother with Greatest Hits style prints because I get autistic about cohesion and the bulk of the games I've had interest in don't even meet the sales figure criteria to receive them. But there's plenty of good games I've gotten for budget prices, whether that's just what they were averaging or due to pricing fuck ups, and in a way I'd wager the low amount paid does influence enjoyment somewhat, personally turning good games into great games for the price, and somewhat mediocre ones into ones I find personally (keyword) found pretty decent because I still got my $5-15 worth from them even if I wouldn't be able to say that if they were close to, at, or above the release price.

ESPN Winter X-Games Snowboarding. Surprisingly realistic for a barely known game. The controls take a bit of getting used to, but it's really satisfying once you do. The 2002 sequel was pretty good too but they made it more arcadey. Got them both for like $5 or $10.
