Great news, few companies deserve to fade away as much or more than this one. Heroes of the Storm especially awed me with the level of incompetence it displayed throughout, but all of the games they are involved in are shit now and the draconian thought policing & muh equality of outcome matchmaking they employ is absolutely nightmarish and I think all of the employees deserve more than a firing for being arrogant enough to implement it. No its more than that. Pace of teh game and its core design features are first importance.
There is no good way for spectator to watch Overwatch, OW obviously tried to cosplay LoL "just make FPS LoL". But LoL is top down view with very small ranges of skills. Altogether it allows to fit team-fight into single screen so spectator could track action as whole picture with the same point of view as players uses (this is important see below).
You can't repeat this experience with shooter. Ranges are wrong, point of view is wrong. First person camera catches only 1/5 of the battlefield and nauseating in fast paced game if you don't operate character. High overview camera? Its different point of view than player's POV so it spectator can't see and appreciate players skill. In LoL spectator camera is in the same position as player so it puts spectator in "teh players shoes".

Now we come to the pacing. CS is low TK, With very slow character movement and no respawns. Of the 100-200 seconds of the match its 10-20 seconds of actual shooting and combat rest been walking and camping. Actions is subdivided into fast duels one after another so spectator camera can easily follow most of this action with first person camera (same as palyer so spactor could see aiming skill and appreciate it). There is no universal best way to learn because it depends on your personality. Are you impatient and prone to frustration? Start with a scripting language with minimal setup like Lua or Python until you understand variables, functions, conditionals and loops before progressing onto a compiled language. If you're more patient then you can try diving straight into something like C or C++. In either case start with a hello world, which will probably be listed on a 'getting started' page for whatever language you pick. From there start learning about how things really work: how data structures are represented in memory, the difference between the stack and the heap, what signed and unsigned means, what passing by value and passing by reference are, what mutability means for variables, what allocations are, what initializing an object is really doing, what pointers and dereferencing are, what some common data structures are and what they're used for, why making good use of CPU cache is important for performance, what garbage collection is. Depending on where you start you'll be somewhat familiar with some already: in Lua you'll already be using references for tables, in C you'll probably learn about pointers pretty early on, etc. In short, learning what the computer is actually doing will put you in a much better position than most shitters and pajeets who are mindlessly copy-pasting garbage Stack Overflow answers and you'll begin to understand the pros and cons of certain languages and programming paradigms.
Things to avoid:
>Shitty Youtube 'tutorials' unless they're an overview presentation about a language.
>Languagewar faggots that tell you to only use one language forever (aka ignore most of /tech/).
