Game companies are in the bizarre position where they don't want to be game companies, they want to be entertainment companies. They only do games because that's their business. They don't care about you and they don't even want to know what you think. They'd rather have a "relationship" with shill media like hollywood has. Hollywood is what they want to be. Games are too hard to control and control is what they want. That's why you can't make your own server for anything anymore. They don't push technology forward anymore because that's hard and causes bugs. Games aren't good anymore because the people making them don't care. tbh BFV failed because it bought into the new WW2 narrative. WW2 used to be cast as "Americans bringing freedom to Europe". While this was the opposite of reality as they were fighting to enslave Europe to jewry, it at least made an appealing fantasy for Americans in video games.
Nowadays though the establishment in the west doesn't want people looking up to the ideal of freedom so the narrative over WW2 has shifted. Instead of a story about Allied "underdogs" (as absurd as that is when they massively outnumbered the Axis and were ruling over most of the Earth at the time) fighting for freedom the new narrative is that WW2 was about the mighty Americans and Russians coming into Europe to crush the petty German racists, and that WW2 was about fighting racism. This narrative is so that today's street vermin and limp-wristed social studies graduates will have a greah historical triumph to look back on and follow as an example.
The problem is that while this narrative appeals to the left it does not appeal to your average white working class man who sympathizes more with the Germans in that portrayal of WW2 and isn't overly fond of anti-white hatred. It's ok for the narrative because that average white working class man is precisely who the establishment hates and wants to destroy, but when you're a game development company you sort of need that man to buy your games because he's the bulk of your consumer base.
