Front mission evolved is the game where the developers took out everything customers wanted in front mission, and replaced with an extremely cheap armored core rip-off. Also missions where you get out of the robot for no raisin to do on-foot missions.

>mech-to-foot combat
It is kind of mediocre. If you are talking about fighting against infantry then you can stomp and shoot but it's nothing special. If its about destroying Wanzers (rare pre-scripted fights) then you just roll over to a cover, spam rocket launcher and roll to the next cover if the previous one gets destroyed.
If you want really challenging mech-to-infantry combat then play Shogi on maximum difficulty. Infantry is guaranteed to rape you while you are in the robot if you are not cautious.
Also you could try Titanfall 1/2 or Gundam Battle Operations 2 for some quirky shit. Can't really think of any other action vidya that has remotely good mecha vs infantry combat where you can play both aside from MGSV PP, I guess, since you can mount Walker Gear and you can fight the Sahelanthropus.

Kind of mediocre best describes the whole being infantry experience. You can just tell it was tacked on compared to everything else. If you could interact with the environment pointlessly Shenmue style and just talk to people, the two things you'd generally want to do most of all, you're simply not allowed to or ever get the opportunity. The environments are pretty to look at but become annoying to go through because there is nothing to do but shoot dumb bots and get on with it.

Left Alive generally looks like it's a passion project by veterans, but goddamn, it has little to no personality considering the fucking talent they brought for this game, marketing is anemic and every video they put out for it is hard for normalfaggots to like. It's deemed to die after it's out because they can't give it any personality other than MGS-Front Mission, fucking Toriyama and Nomura probably stole most of the overall gaming budget and just gave this game the scraps. Goddamn voice acting is phoned it, this really feels like Squeenix giving some money and letting them fail on their own.

Call me a normalnigger, but I see nothing but a blunder. It's like the devs don't know what the fuck they are doing while thinking that hiring popular directors, designers and artists could make everything work itself out.
Though I must say that I'd have ignored most of that shit if the game would be more focused on Wanzers, at least like the damn Evolved.

That's the tragedy, there's no fucking direction on this game and they're doing the best of whatever bottom of the trash heap budget they have. Compared to what Nip Moonman and Platinum gave out with NieR Automata which had a lower budget compared to their recent shitheaps like FF15. This game was made to die.

The faggots at Square probably went full retard on "low budget games" after Automata, since it was the only game to surpass sales expectations that year, while being made on a budget of four hamburgers and Yoko Taro's drinking money. But they didn't fucking realize that both Yoko Taro and Platinum almost never had an actual budget to make a videogame, and that not everyone can work NEET magic.

As much fun as Viper Boost was, I still would prefer to have the weapon seen in the intro, when the pilot plugs the gun into the Omega Boost to make an even bigger gun.
Game needs a remaster. Sadly, I wouldn't trust any studios to handle it properly in the current year +4.
