The current SMT team wants to remake/remaster Nocturne and people wanting it as well despite what happened to Redux. An EOU3 would be fine in some aspects because mods could fix it. People are already making mods for vanilla EO3, a fully 3D one would be appreciated. Though I do sympathize with people who don't want to risk it getting defiled, EO3 is one of my favorite games of all time.

I will say though while the Untolds had issues I feel most could be mitigated with mods. Like fixing EOU2's terrible HP bloat. It sucks EOU2 has that since thats the main issue killing the game for me. I love the ost, labyrinth design, and the town system and cooking system is my favorite sidequest in the whole series.

Atlus also put out a Persona-related poll a year ago where, among other things, they asked people if they'd be interested in a Persona 2 remake.

Let's be clear on one thing: Atlus never "forgot" about Persona 1 or 2. They know they exist. Letting them rot is a choice by Atlus. A choice they could easily decide to stop making at any time.

They won't need to, the re-release of Nocturne in Japan replaced Dante with Raidou from the SMT franchise, so there's no longer a need to negotiate to take him back, they'll just take Raidou if anything. Only because the first EO was a disaster in retrospect. They clearly didn't know what they were doing and only got by thanks to the cool concept combined with a neat art style. It was only with 2 and 3 that they really started perfecting the EO formula. Untold 1 had a lot of problems that couldn't be blamed on Atlus just not knowing what they were doing, like the entire story mode, RNG grimoire bullshit, all the story mode locked content including the strongest weapon for a non-story mode class and so on. It's a huge shame because it would be one of the best if not the best EO game if not for those flaws.

I wish Nexus got some mods to fix the various issues it has. Make subclassing available much earlier, fix balance issues, let ninjas use their force while having a clone, add some new fucking music to the ruins visits and maybe even reskin them. Hell, if we're getting really ambitious, bring in old strata from the other games (maybe you could just rip textures and such from the other 3DS games?) and maybe replace the fucking ruins with those. That was one of my strongest impressions when playing Nexus, actually: that it could have been really good if not for a number of really stupid choices they made.

EOIV had a basic one that just makes skill descriptions nore detailed, but EOV actually has a class rebalance mod that even adds new skills, having looked at the files it's not that hard to do something like that, only problem is understanding the file structure

Changing the actual dungeon layouts and events like unlocking subclasses seems more difficult, though changing the appearance and music is just a matter of swapping assets

It was obviously one overarching story split into two games anon, the carry over save data with choices from the previous game affecting the second. If you read details interviews and about the development you'd know that it was all planned to be on one disc originally but they were forced to split it into two parts due to sheer size being double that of Nocturne. Hate the second game all you want, it's just the second half of a two part story not a sequel.

Also Ardha design is the second best design in the series, only behind Take-Minakata

The entire party started separated in 2 we just get thrown into the story after 3 of the team have regrouped. And we still get a segment later in the game were Serph is separated from the original party. While the details changed it's also clear that the central focus of the story was going to about Serph and Sera uniting both figuratively and literally as does occur, it's just that Serph's absence from the party, Sera's gain of powers, and the reuniting took place in a different order. If you play Digital Devil Saga with no knowledge that a sequel exists, it doesn't feel like a proper story, there's no payoff, none of the plot threads are resolved, nothing makes sense. Mysterious is a great tone to have but it needs to have payoff to be a proper fucking story. Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 feel like a game cleaved clean in half and it shows in the story. Authorial intent aside, the one thing I do dislike about the Maniax version of Nocturne is that the True Demon ending overshadows the other endings and makes them seem less valid. Since you have to clear the Labyrinth of Amala and fight another final boss in order to get the True Demon ending, it's now the most important and complete ending of Nocturne, whereas before each of the other endings were equally important and complete. Don't get me wrong, I think the Maniax content more than makes up for this problem, if you even consider it one, but I do think it's a shame that the Maniax version isn't as open-ended as the original version.

If anything, I believe that it would have been better done that, instead of being introduced with random Matador encounter, Demi-fiend was sent to the Labyrinth right before entering the tower for the final climb. Devil's advocate, but not all director's cuts are better than the original depending on what the changes are made. I've read a couple articles detailing some of the possible and actual continuity errors and problems the Maniax content adds to nocturne including altering the more logical role of the neutral backer (whoever the Rorschach face god is) because of stuff the lady in black says. Then you get the Aleph theories which doesn't really impact anything in the long run, but does seem to change the role of Hijiri in the long run as well as bring up issues with later games that do feature the Law/Neutral/Chaos axioms not having this "observer" character present.

I guess all I would say is that Maniax isn't bad in my book, and I think you can more or less experience the vanilla game by not progressing the TDE route. But that addition does change a lot of the tone and lore. I would understand why people wouldn't favor it

It's possible to add or make characters playable, but they need to fit properly with the existing plot rather than have to bend the plot in knots to make their presence feel warranted. Anyhow, I'd assume part of it is that remaking games that don't need to be remade visuals, audibly, or in terms of gameplay, they feel a need to change/add something to make it stand out, even if it's a negative. Though that just prompts the question of why remake what didn't need remaking to begin with? Answer's obviously profit, but still.

That's why the premise is great and the initial parts of the first game are so good but then it just fucking shits itself and turns ultra-generic. She actually continued her initial design in a series of LNs, though it sounds like the official translator for the LNs is kind of a cunt, additionally, I feel like the SMT team had a positive influence on the work though because the samples/synopses I did read weren't quite as interesting as DDS1 turned out to be, but Satomi definitely fumbled it when left on his own.

While I agree I do love the sprites, the 3DS EOs do have some very nice additions that would be welcome to EO3

The last one is the biggest reason I would want an EO3 remake, the music remixes alone would be worth it

How much DLC could we here at atlas sell you? What about a DLC that unlocks the sixth stratum, or puts it back in after we remove large sections of floors for no reason? What if we decide to make yggdroid and shogun DLC because having them be story locked punishes casual players who just mash through dialogue. Shogun is also story locked somehow too
