A friend sent me an invite and we played it. It's genuinely not very good. There is literally exactly one dungeon, and they copypasted it 5 times. The same exact room with different textures or monster spawns set in it, over and over and over again. And this is the big demo. This is the fucking showcase? Fuck me even Bethesda did a better job making sure Skyrim's "first hour" showcase was somewhat unique and avoided the copypasting of the rest of the game. Anthem didn't even try. Room with bugs, same room with "puzzle", same room with bandits, same room with golem, SAME FUCKING ROOM. And the loading screens. Loading screens god damn everywhere. Loading screen to open up your fucking inventory, loading screen to step into your suit, loading screen to go to the mission, loading screen when you have to re-spawn after dying, loading screen when you go out of bounds, loading loading loading screens.

The overworld is unnatural and inconsistent, nothing makes any sort of sense when exploring. Like there's a lake I dove into, and I swam into a giant pipe, and the water just ended in a solid block and exited to an open area. There's fucking water EVERYWHERE too because you have to use it to cool down your suit after flying for all of 8 god damn seconds, and none of it feels natural. Lets just put more waterfalls and pools around here, who cares where they come from?

Flying is shit. They 100% made the game for consoles, and on PC they just completely disregarded the mouse and had it behave like a "joystick" during flight. It's really awful. You can only fly for about 8 seconds before your suit overheats and you're forced to stop flying. The big gimmick that's supposed to make the game unique and it's just trash. There's a really low altitude limit, and if you fly out of bounds for 5 seconds they force you back to a loading screen to re-spawn – which will always happen because the controls are so slow and clunky to respond you won't be able to turn around in 5 seconds.

The fort is the worst aspect of the demo, you can't run or jump, the motion blur can make you sick.

I feel like suit limitations are something you upgrade with level and gear which we clearly could not do with what we were given. they also wanted to make each suit have different passive bonus movement like the storm one can just hover and fly around forever, the green one had high triple jumps kicks dashing and extending dashes. the default one was balanced and tank one obvious didn't get shit. too late to see what he actually lacked it probably couldn't dash. seems the fastest way to move around is just timing your jumps and letting yourself gain movement which is something they could do but every time your feet touch the ground it gets reset. wish there was rolling.

Swimming needs to be fixed, a lot of the times when I dove into the water, my character would level out instantly, and run smack dab into a wall. What is supposed to be a smooth transition through an underwater cave ended with me getting lost inside a pitch-black abyss, scrambling to find ANY way out as my oxygen depleted. That the swimming and flight mechanics are controlled by the mouse, instead of just being an enhanced movement mode using WASD and Q/Z or some other key combo as up/down, with the mouse only helping when you're flying forward is really weird. It might just be because it's 'optimized' to be played with a gamepad.

When I was playing, nearly every time I launched into ANY loading screen, I would get the 90% loading error.

All of those are situations where I've been loading, and the loading freezes at 90%. The other problems I've had is things like shooting my gun, and shooting with 0 recoil, and then after 5 or 10 seconds, all of the recoil begins to be applied at once, resulting in my aim spasming everywhere like a retard that just found out shit isn't chocolate. When aimed down sights, it makes the reticle move vertically in a really jarring, disturbing banner. I've also had moments where I'm playing, and I die from what I thought was an enemy that was too strong, but really it was that it had slowed down, fired three or four magazines worth of munitions, and then all of those flew at me at once, destroying me before I could react, which was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the game when I was playing, but between the massive amount of load screens, and the really poorly set up servers, I think this is one of those 'wait two weeks before playing' games.

For flying, the only class I really enjoyed it on was Storm, because their hover increases their shield, and encourages you to stay in the air. Your heat doesn't build up at all [practically] as you float, so you get a good feeling of jumping into the air, rotating, flying off, stopping and repeating to go the right direction. Everyone else, I felt like I was flying a drone, with forward stuck on, and kept slamming into walls or not being able to adjust me direction quickly enough, or when I did, I would over-compensate, and slam into the ground or overheat my suit. Like the linked person said, it really is meant for a gamepad, which sucks because I was hoping I could just use PC controls.

A while ago, I put 30$ into Warframe's shekel market (because I genuinely had fun for like 100 hours and decided they deserved it) and I was pretty fucking amazing at how much shit that bought me. I pretty much customized 10 whole frames and weapon sets (so, 30 weapons) on those 30 bucks.

You get a bright engram(lootbox) every time you level up which is twice maybe three times per hour of play. The armor set that drops from it drops at level 1 and you can infuse it up to whichever level you're at, DLC or no DLC.

Beyond the fundamental retardation of needing such a chart, what really has the normalfags up in arms is that their expensive good goy pre-orders don't count for shit and they'll have to wait an extra week to play the game. Javelin customization was fine, but nowhere near as good as Warframe.

I think that's just poor optimization. My friend and I have several crashes between us as well, which really makes for a poor appetizer.

I think the bigger issue is the way they have restricted large parts of the world and collectibles, 'cus it makes everything feel much smaller. I'm also curious as to whether or not there will be multiple biomes.
