No keep playing your current character if you're already attached to it, there's no need to minmax in MW even if you have the difficulty slider all the way up. If you want x5's you're going to need to train your non-major/minor skills, which is boring and stupid if you're not a complete autist.

Not really worth doing. The game becomes much easier once your combat skills and item progression develop.
It will also be necessary/recommended that you're strong enough to tackle the expansion areas of the game.

No if you get the maximum benefit from endurance to your health you'll be OP by level 20 depending on your equipment. Morrowind is not the kind of game where you need to look at stats all that much. Just keep leveling, and you should do fine.

Gothic1/2. You can try risen if you liked it, but its exactly same game 2 more times.
But still they are different games. Morrowind feels more like sandbox with insanity simulation, while gothic is more of a traditional heroic adventure in prison. Morrowind is more focused on world itself with few characters to empathize the world. While in gothic its regular medieval low-fantasy world with few great bro-tier characters. And nowadays morrowind has AI upscaled textures and multiplayer and you can visit Russia in it.

Morrowind is fantastic in the "mid level"; on the surface it seems like a boring first person RPG, and on a deeper level it has some significant gameplay problems (Alchemy being utterly broken, etc). But it's fucking magical when you look past the surface, but don't delve into the exploits and whatnot.
At least OpenMW is a thing; all of Morrowind's core faults can be fixed now, we just need to actually fucking do it.

Because while it has some good elements (It can be fairly immersive), this is drowned out by how outright generic everything is - from the writing, to the combat, to the exploration, etc. It's exciting the first few times, but it has a very, very limited scope of what's really available - while the rest just feels copy and pasted. Furthermore, it takes the casualizing of the series that Oblivion already had been doing, and turned it up to 11. For all its faults (horribly generic setting, some meaty lore rape, extremely boring combat, etc), at least Oblivion had some entertaining questlines with decent writing. Skyrim didn't have this - it just had cringe-y voice acting galore. It doesn't help that they completely destroyed character customization - every single character ends up being a fucking stealth archer.
There's essays written about this shit, though. The long and short of it is, no, it is not an "objectively good game".

Skyrim is a buggy, uninspired snoozefest without spending a couple of hours applying community patches and some mods. It's horribly balanced, has uninteresting, pointless mechanics, the few cool shit it has is barely useable without mods. The dungeons make no sense, there are a grand total of zero (0) good characters, only a few locations look like what they're supposed to be …
It's NOT a good game. The only saving grace it has is a very large community of people willing to work on it for free (not for long lolz, paid mods on the way). If you spend time modding it, it becomes decent. Still not great though.

1. It's not a good game by any measure.
You'll get completely opposing opinions on many titles, but Skyrim is the one almost everyone here can agree is both shallow and dull, which are the worst qualities a game can posses.
2. It's treated as a masterpiece everyone else.
Which it isn't.
And that only fuels anons' hatred of it.
The best thing about it are the sluts you can mod in, but is otherwise a completely forgettable experience.

Look, regardless of how you feel about Skyrim, that's not related to the thread. OP is asking for games similar to Morrowind. Skyrim is a very different game, TES3 was a much more traditional CRPG and Skyrim is more of an open-world action sandbox with light RPG elements.

The combat in Gothic is in fact very clunky, especially when multiple enemies are thrown into the mix, but Morrowind's combat is so much more awful that anything looks better in comparison.
What I actually meant is the few clips of combat he showed aren't representative of what the combat is really like most of the time. In most fights you can win by slashing your sword left and right over and over until the thing you're attacking is dead.

It might fake being passable for a while but it's broken, make iron daggers, enchant with shit chants and sell until you have all the money in the world. Make an alchemy suit to make a potion to boost your enchanting, then enchant another alchemy suit, rinse and repeat until you're churning out ludicrously enchanted plate suits so expensive they can't be sold for anything other than a massive loss, this shit should not be possible if the game was written with competence which it is not. It's also nerfed to fuck, towns are tiny, the MP is OP and its nowhere near as interesting as Morrowind.

That's not really applicable in terms of mod plugins, since it was only Skyrim onwards that made it possible for mod plugins (and their scripts, specifically) to be closed-source.
Coincidentally, it's Skyrim that has all the closed-source engine extensions, which is a big part of how Skyrim Special Edition broke the community since all those engine extensions can't be recompiled for Skyrim Special Edition without their source code and so are now just completely unplayable.
