Just put them all in one folder. If you can't navigate them, then organize them into multiple folders. Example: video games folder>core genres/mods/flash games>games with multiple installments/remakes/launchers>the actual vidja gaems. Or just get creative and arrange your shortcuts the way it suits you. Do anything than leave them cluttered in a big folder. You can also customize the folder icons like I do.

I tried just this but it's fucked because, say, I want to put platformers in a single folder, but the truth is metroidvanias, my favorite genre, aren't really "platformers" perse. Then I'd have way too much subfolder and that would defeat the point. The main problem is that I keep forgetting what games I was playing, so I resolved I was going to do a folder with the shortcuts of the last games I played or the ones I have to finish.

That's actually from the new update. Besides the widescreen support it also merged both shortcuts into 1. You can now change from original to expansion in-game.

As for what I frequently play, hard to say, really, Lately I've been playing Guacamelee 2, Bloodstained and Forest of the Blue Skin.

I've been playing a few emulated games as well, like Castlevania Curse of Darkness and Jackie Chan Stuntmaster.

DaemonTools is compromised and now comes with malware. WinCDEmu has no separate launcher, you just mount images by right clicking on them, has unlimited mounts, supports more types of images and is free of ads and shit. I hate shilling, but no one besides us 3 is reading this thread.

Well, I'm running the older version, like the copyright license only goes up for it only up to 2013 (4.47.1.0337 DTL), so I don't think I'm compromised. And as for the other benefits, the difference is minute and pretty much negligible, as far as I am concerned.

I prefer free software myself, but from when I last tried it less than 2 years ago, it was not compatible with some of my disk images, and I don't know how to crack my own games so using software that handles the copy protection for me is pretty essential. Maybe some day I will have a go at cracking them, but I don't really have any incentive to since I've been using the same copy of DT since 2010. I gladly keep up with WinCDemu, but until it does everything I need I can't abandon the proprietary shitware. I don't see it as a big deal though since my Windows machine is an airgapped vidya box.
