There is a demand for it
They could use HD Rumble and Gyroaiming as great gimmicks to make the aiming pleasant and intuitive and the gun shooting feel immersive with the HD Rumble. They also could use the useless IR of the Joycons as a button to reload (tap the IR to reload).

Video related (start at 10:50 to skip the intro) shows the superiority of the Wii aiming in CoD Wii games. While I think that mouse and Keyboard are obviously superior precision wise, the Wii aiming was a very honorable choice, an immersive choice and 100000x superior to DS3/DS4 gamepads or other gamepads for that matter.
Wii Fps aiming feels like kind of Red Orchestra 2's aiming on PC.

I still hate the reticle style aiming with camera movement relegated to a joystick. If there was a way to emulate mouse style aiming, which is to say moving the remote moves the entire pov instead of just a cursor, without having the screen wobble all over the place that would be ideal.

Well no…It's pretty stupid, it kills the purpose of motion control aiming completely. But maybe you can do it in the options in the games.
