I have an S8, a very powerful phone.
Name a single game worth playing on the google play store that isn't a port of a PC game or a remake of a flash game.
I have been sifting through nothing but pure trash, i recently played the "newest C&C game" and i was so disgusted i left a review and looked at other peoples reviews and what i saw made me want to commit murder. I genuinely believe that there isn't a single game on the platform that isn't directly stealing every gameplay element it has from other mobile games.
The only mobile game that has had actual gameplay is something called Rusted Warfare, it's about $2 and is basically an attrition based RTS with no population cap(there's a free version). That is quite literally the only worthwhile game on mobile i have played and it has a superior PC version.
Please, if you actually know a genuine game with actual gameplay, please let me know, i want to believe.

Search the app store for Kairosoft. All of their games except the free to play ones are really, genuinely fun if you're into building something and watching it incrementally get better. The fan favorite is probably Game Dev Story (a game so fun that ripping it off became a subgenre all its own; see Game Dev Tycoon) but my honest favorite is probably Grand Prix Story: build an F-1 racing team, balance your funding between R&D of new cars and paying the racing team to drive your cars, upgrade your teams as you can afford it to level them up and make them develop cooler shit and drive faster/better. Other than those games I've never found a phone game that could keep my attention longer than a day or two.

DJMax rhythm games are good but sadly almost all the songs are locked behind either real cash or 30 second ads. If you don't mind the grind Tapsonic World Championship is a pretty good game, albeit somewhat dead in multiplayer. Tapsonic Grand Prix has some gacha elements where you can gather different idols to give you bonuses but last time i checked it almost a year ago the song library was way too small. Don't bother with Technika Q at all, that game is intended for tablets or anything with a bigger screen than a phone. Other than these i only play shit that don't take much space and can be played offline like

There is literally nothing aside from ports/emulators, rhythm games, puzzle games, and/or games made by the Chinese/Gooks. Let's go through this.
>FIRST: Ports
The only ports that are "worth it" are the Sonic 1/CD/2 remakes. Crazy Taxi and Knights of the Old Republic are exactly the same, and XCOM: Enemy Within and Titan Quest are missing expansion packs.
>SECOND: Rhythm
Literally every rhythm game available (That's worth playing) is either a variation, or clone, of SOUNDVOLTEX, SUPERBEAT: XONiC, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, or DDR/Guitar Hero/DJMax. Not, that alone isn't a bad thing. However, where the cancer steps in is that just about every single one of those is full with monetization to it's fullest extent. The only one I can thing of that isn't is MUSYNX.
>THIRD: Puzzle
You can find this shit on anything, so why do you need a phone to specifically play them in the first place?

Now, let's get something out of the way, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT THEY CAN MAKE A GOOD GAME. That's not the issue. The problem lies in the fact that an overwhelming majority of Gook companies are controlled by Megalians (Basically, if feminism became even more of a cult because Hillary had won, and was privately endorsed by the government), and Chinese companies are…well, Chinese (Where most of the country can go fuck themselves for being soulless bugmen who torture animals).
And, this is leaving out the most important fact that majority of these games are nothing BUT monetization cancer.
In a previous mobile thread, one Anon posted how the market had promise back when it first started a decade ago, but too much shit has pilled up at this point. You can certainly still find good games on it, sure, but you'll have to sort through a lot of cancer.

Granblue Fantasy is alright, but is a gacha game like the rest of them. The girls are cute.
I would strongly recommend Deemo if you have any openness to rhythm games. It has a piano focus which is a nice change of pace from most rhythm games with techno and dance music.

Nethack, CDDA, Pixel Dungeon and it's superior variants, POWDER, OSRS, Neo Scavenger, Antiyoy, Hoplite, Super Mario Run is alright but have to be online and there's a town building aspect and many trackers why not just emulate, and Jetpack Joyride which barely qualifies as a game.

The Zenonia series isn't completely gay, at least the first 4 I played were decent. It's basically top-down 16-bit Zelda with JRPG equipment, stats and story. Made by Gamevil though, so take that with some salt.
If you're not going to buy a Switch, and you don't want to go out and buy a flashcart for your DS/3DS, then TWEWY mobile is… more playable than emulation on PC, I guess?

Fate grand order is a pretty great phone game. Spending money is completely optional, and going around collecting Saint Quartz around the map to gatcha is fun for me.
I'd say give it a try and see if you like it or not.
I like seeing the cute fanart too and it got me into reading about the irl historical figures based off the game. But I don't have the motivation to read Fate/stay night VN yet

the only weird part is that it still has GBA sprites in the overworld and the graphical difference between the GBA and DS regions.
but one of their development plans is to replace all the models in the overworlds of the GBA games with the DS ones.
