Are there any other racing games similar to FH3? I kinda liked its handling too but handling in GRID and Driver SF was very good to me. I also love JDM cars.

Dirt Rally is really nice but I just wanted to fuck around with my modified JDM car and drift in a open world map like in FH3. Not saying it isn't a bad port, because it is, and it has performance issues even on Xbox One hardware where the game occasionally just forgets what the fuck it's supposed to be rendering and grinds to a halt for a second to sort shit out. If you're running 8 GB of ram on PC, like the minimum specs advertise, it's going to be near unplayable. 12 really is the minimum - with 16 being optimal. Haven't had a single issue with 16GB of Ram installed.

Also, they did improve CPU performance after launch, so if it's something you haven't played recently - it may run better now than the last time you played it. Playground & Turn 10 develop for the Xbox first, and PC second - but since they both launch at the same time and need to be crossplay/crossbuy, they tend to just release the Xbox One optimized version for the PC and then fix it later. Almost all of their games run on a single core at launch.

I also have 8gb of ram and managed to get it running properly with some effort. Check your task manager to see if there are any programs draining your memory. I had to close my browser for example, and had to make sure there were no programs running in the background.

Also what version did you get? the very first exploit that came out was some sort of alpha that runs a bit worse on some systems than the later releases.

Looking at your specs you should be able to run it considering I have an old fx6100 and r9 280

idk if there's any good open world racing games out there outside of horizon anymore

but if you're ever into simracing try out project cars 2

think of it as horizon but with circuits, city stages, and rallycross.

also shit ton of race options including weather, multi-class, and time progression

there's also like 180+ cars. maybe like 200+ with added DLC.

PCARS 2 is dirt cheap nowdays so it's a definite buy

the devs are brainlets though

it's basically an ubisoft open world game but with cars (which works surprisingly well actually), it's more on the arcade side so physics and handling might be unattractive, but ymmv

2 has more vehicles options I think but besides than no idea what's improved, never played it.

Forza horizon was always shit compared to motorsport retard. Horizon felt like you were driving a boat rather a real car (almost like gta but slightly more dynamic). In motorsport that is absolutely not the case. It actually feels like your driving a real car. Horizon tries desperately to copy need for speed. What results, is that it feels totally contrived and shit to what people actually want from a Forza game (realistic driving, realistic crashes, great graphics, etc). Instead what Forza fans got was a terrible monstrosity.

motorsport gets too much physics praise over being superior than horizon. The only noticeable difference I've found between horizon and motorsport is that motorsport is a looser feeling gaming compared to the boat like nature of Forza horizon

As I said earlier, I strongly dislike racetracks and official circuits so I don't care if Motorsport is better or not shithead. You have some points tho I give you that, I had to spend some time in options menu while playing Horizon to modify the game so it can be more realistic then arcadey. Like closing that disgrace of a guide line and driving assists etc. I also usually play with manual mode so FH3 seemed kinda cool in my 15 minute gameplay. Besides I actually enjoyed that festival atmosphere.
