All of this is because of the open world meme. It still lingers and the attention to detail drops like a motherfucker.
Botw had some great world interaction but it was dead and empty that it hurt to look at. With NuHitman I'm hoping that normalfags will realize that small/medium concentrated levels with details and several routes to be worked on are the best.

You weren't the only one who saw the similarities. I hope they show something new soon because I feel ambivalent to what I saw before. I was expecting a game similar to Deus Ex and what a surprise, we're getting a game similar to Deus Ex. A few games like DE, EYE and even stuff like Fallout, Dishonored etc. have all done things that Cyberpunk 2077 would do. No way they could have done something new. I'm a little disappointed that the game will play more like a Fallout with some added fluff like hacking instead of lockpicking and vice versa, but then again its my fault for imagining a game that would do more. I kept envisioning being able to play a Netrunner and never leave my apartment, just do every mission through the 'Net.
It looks good but it will definitely be compared to a bunch of other games because it ultimately is like a bunch of other games. Voiced protag is a turn off but not a huge one as a game like Deus Ex makes it work opposed to a game like Fallout. As long as there is a bunch of weapons, augmentations, classes and choices, enough for a few playthroughs at least, I will be happy.

Yes, they aren't doing much that hasn't been done before.
To me the one thing they have to nail to set them apart from others is choice.
Actual meaningful choice.
Things that incentivize replaying the game.
And yet they didn't fucking show any choice permutation.
Not once, not a single god damn time.
They simply said that choice existed.
They implied there is choice.
Until I see that I will treat them as fucking liars just like every other grabbag of dickholes that has choice as a bullet point of their game.
The demo reel made it look like they're marketing to the general slack-jawed shooter loving chuckle fucks of the world and it is hard to think otherwise at this point.
All they needed to do was show a little snippet of them inspecting the cred chip like they showed you can do and having the vector removed.
From there comes an actual non-violent path of buying the bot and walking out the front door OR walking out the backdoor after the firefight with an extra 50K eddies in your pocket which is one of the outcomes they even said was possible.
From there you jumpcut to dialog of the corpo agent chewing you out for not getting her mole.
Then the really special thing is the dialog option that showed up for 1 second that said "Cred's yours with some additional info" during the mexican standoff.
Show that, then V and Jackie walking out with the bot AND the name of the mole the corpo agent wanted.
You do that and avoid listening to gunfire and screams for the next 10 minutes while making everybody happy.
Instead the choice they made was to show nothing that really matters.
They showed bullet time, a gun that ricochets, a gun that penetrates walls, a gun with autoaim, arm blades, hacking, engineering etc.
I'd have taken them just showing what would happen if you actually tried to take the gun out of the hand of the corpo bodyguard.
Ideally he shoots you in the face and you die for being an idiot.
That is the choice I want, I want stupid people shot.
Worst case scenario is that it leads to you just getting wounded while interrogated and everything goes down exactly the same stupid way in the long run.
Actual choice is the one and only thing that separates it from something I'll buy and a slightly better version of Nu-Deus Ex.

I also really liked HR and Jensen, the thing is that those games were thought with a character in mind from the start Same with the witcher games, where a voiced PC works because we're playing a pre established character, you can roleplay a bit but that was never really the point, on the other hand 2077 is being marketed as a real RPG where you're supposed to create your character it obviously won't be as deep as the tabletop but it should be certainly deeper than HR or the Witcher games something that goes against having a voiced protagonist.
I'd like if there were several voices just to give flavour to the character, but most of the dialog you'd have to read, so you can have your character sounding like you want him to sound but they don't have to waste tons of money and time on recordings.
The voiced protag disappoints me but it isn't a deal breaker in any way, for me at least i'm probably gonna play the default male anyway

The fact that it ended in a shootout doesn't mean there's a lack of choice in the sense that you can't take things at face value in the game just like in real life, but it is true that they should've showed the differences if there were any. You have to remember that was a demostration, they'd want to show the combat in the game, so first they show you some peaceful interactions and dialog and then they show you how to deal with a compound full of enemies with some stealth and some combat. At the end of the day what people want to see are the flashy guns more than the RPG part, which is a shame but it is what it is

I far prefer that kind of gameplay than the standard click blue option for goody two shoes path that saves everyone on earth and no animals are hurt, pick red option to rape an unborn baby during the quest not because it'll help but because you're just that evil. Very few modern (or even old) RPGs do that, I doubt Cyberpunk 2077 will but if they do I'll appreciate it so long as they don't massively fuck up both gameplay and story.

He isn't though. The only tracking you can incorporate into a regular round is a slight aim assist, which, moving at the speeds a bullet does, will only make any difference 1) over very great distances, like sniping, such as your video or 2) if your aim is only very slightly off target.
Magical bullets that home in and strike targets from standard assault rifle engagement ranges are just retarded if it's anything other than a slight trajectory correction. There shouldn't be any rounds making lateral arcs or turning corners, the only thing that's gonna do that are self propelled munitions that travel a lot slower than bullets.

And the metric by which they measure overweight is pretty ridiculous. I'm a super skinny guy, I've always had problems maintaining mass (eating junk food isn't a solution), and even I could hit "overweight" if I lifted weights and pushed myself up to 195 lbs at over 6 feet tall. BMI is supposed to be accurate for a person with an "average" build. It's only a guideline. Fat percentage is the only really relevant measurement. You can actually have a fairly low BMI because you have 0 muscle mass but still have quite a lot of fat and be very unhealthy.

as someone who pirated and played through NuDoot several times, that screencap is absolutely riddled with factually incorrect or just outright dishonest statements. Some stuff is right, but without reading the entire thing top to bottom, a brief scan makes it look like maybe 50-70% of it is actually correct.

Bad writing. Dialogue trees where you're forced to say one thing.
Visually both so colorful it's hard to look at and uninteresting.
Phobia system that gives you (optional) debuffs for fighting the same monster type more than once.
Enemies stand around waiting to be shot.
It might be okay in spite of these. That one gameplay video is the only gameplay they've shown.

I liked the voice protag in Deus Ex because it felt like a "blank slate". You could interpret it the tone in any way and it'll still make sense.
Cyberpunk's voiced protag had a single distinct tone per scenario.

Nvm, as I typed it out, they're using "phobia = I dislike thing for a valid reason" like islamophobia or homophobia.

At bullet speeds - yes. But at hundreds km/h which are fast enough for "you can't outrun only blink before death" is possible. There are RC planes that can "run circles around man" at blazing speeds. Bullet size rc aircrafts (smart bullet) theoretically can do to tighter turns because square–cube law.

If a bullet is traveling at 1,700 mph in one direction, to steer 45 degrees it would have to have a hell of a lot of delta-v inside it to change course, which would have to be burned in the right direction too. That requires a gimballed thruster, or at least stabilizer wings/fins. Obviously, we're talking a missile at this point, not a bullet. Now, if you want that 45° change at 1,700 mph to happen in less than a kilometer, you need absolute magic, or a bullet that fires another bullet inside it at an angle.

>it would have to have a hell of a lot of delta-v inside it to change course
The bullets don't seem to go that fast looking at the video, and they curve maybe 30 degrees over 1/3-1/2 of a second. I would need to know the weight of the bullet to be sure of this, but let's say it uses a small shaped charge instead of a lead bullet; we could have a very low-mass, low velocity projectile. With the right secondary propulsion mechanism working in conjunction with fins and possibly a vibrating mechanism to take advantage of boundary layer frequencies, it seems quite possible to have the bullets follow this path although it would be FUCKING EXPENSIVE.
>we're talking a missile at this point, not a bullet
Visually it looks like they may be using a rocket-styled engine, as there is a smoke trail being left behind.

Definition of cyberpunk (cy·(U+200B was here)ber·(U+200B was here)punk)
1 : science fiction dealing with future urban societies dominated by computer technology
In science fiction circles, "cyberpunk" is a genre that often features countercultural antiheroes trapped in a dehumanizing high-tech future. Its roots extend back to the technical fiction of the 1940s and '50s, but it was years before it matured. The word cyberpunk was coined by writer Bruce Bethke, who wrote a story with that title in 1980. He created the term by combining "cybernetics," the science of replacing human functions with computerized ones, and "punk," the raucous music and nihilistic sensibility that became a youth culture in the 1970s and '80s. Not until the 1984 publication of William Gibson's novel, Neuromancer, however, did "cyberpunk" really take off as a term or a genre.
