So as we've seen with Darksiders 3 and Metro Exodus that THQ Nordic has a problem with getting the word about their games out close to release. With Darksiders 3 it seems poorly reviewed since it's too much of a souls clone, although I've heard there was also issues with performance and lore rape. That said what DOES concern me is that absolutely no one is talking about the game or even knows that it released.
With Metro Exodus there's very little information on what the game actually is. Is it more like STALKER? or is it its own thing? We're very close to the launch ov this product and I'm worried this game is gonna get shafted by the same issues that Darksiders had
In any case THQ Nordic seems like its run by good people who care about video games, however I worry about their marketing team and their financials since they keep buying IP when it seems they have issues marketing quite marketable games. I really hope THQ lands a hit soon. Because the LAST thing we need is more Bethesda/EA like publishers.

They have been making money. They buy the ips then rerelease the games to make dosh. Perphaps the new games they make aren't doing so well, but they are still afloat by other means.

I don't think anyone cares about THQ nordic. All they'll do is re-release all the IPs they've been buying up while slowly releasing newer games of their own under the radar. So far all of the newer games they've released have been terrible and poorly received(can't really speak for DS3 since I haven't play) and with the exception of Elex and The Dwaves(which were slightly above average at best because of the way they were executed) and my guess is they'll continue to poorly market their stuff until they fluke out with a good release while continuing to stay afloat with IP rereleases.

Most of the lore is an expansion of what already was in place. Sins are pretty neat. The shit part is Fury (she has no character) and Ulthane (for some reason he's typical boring good guy this time around, but later (in DS1) he goes all grumpy and doesn't care about anything, without explanation).

I think they alienated a lot of Darksiders fans with the new combat direction and cutting out things that were in the base game in the previous game and selling it as DLC. That's what happened with me, anyway. The last straw was the Abyssal Armor being DLC.

Average or above average is where I'd put most of their new releases. DS3 has a very archaic game design that is refreshing in the modern gaming climate and also frustrating since it doesn't bring anything new to the table. It's not going to beat you over the head with politics but it definitely felt like a game that should have came out 1-2 years after the last one. It's okay for what it is but I hope they step it up for the 4th game if they ever get to it.

There's not much hope with the budget and how inept the developers at Gunfire are. Now Metro Exodus is gonna be a funny story if they can't fucking get the marketing right, the problem with both games is it's been a very long time since the last entry, and they really need to get the hype and public spotlight which they succeeded with the remasters of the previous games. Darksiders 3 is mediocre, Metro Exodus on the other hand needs more hardcore shilling towards the people who will buy it.
And I wouldn't worry about THQ Nordic, just read up on the investment group behind them, they're are in good shape financially and have a shit ton of IPs, they keep fucking buying them and re-releasing them, it's good shit what they have going for them, but their Triple-A forays is risky business.

What was actually wrong with them? I only played the first one, and it was a while ago, but I remember it having nice moody underground environments, beautiful outdoors levels, a very engaging barter system that encouraged you to conserve ammunition and always gave you the option of burning through high quality ammunition at the cost of not having anything to then trade with, interesting weapons, and very satisfying gunplay. I don't remember heaps about the story, but the moment to moment goals that the story put me on felt fairly compelling. I really don't remember anything necessarily bad about it. Linear levels maybe, but they were designed and developed with a lot of care, skill, and attention.
