There's a few games like Xenoblade 2, Octopath Traveler, Smush, Gal Metal, Fast RMX, Kamiko, etc. The main thing you have to keep in mind that it's a handheld, not a console. While I am enjoying my system, I DO recommend waiting till either 2019 or 2020 if you're waiting for purely unique experiences you can't find on Steam and don't care for portability. If you live in a city like New York or Boston then the thing is a god send.

It's a pretty good machine if you want to learn foreign languages because it can go portable so you can relax on the couch while playing, there's no region lock, and so many titles especially first party are localized into a ton of languages, even more "obscure" ones like Russian or Chink. For those purposes I recommend Super Mario Party (easy vocab), the first 10-20 hours of Zelda until it becomes a repetitive tech demo, Pokkén Tournament DX (has full Japanese voice acting), Super Mario Odyssey has simple language and good practice for basic verbs like move, jump, swim, etc. plus it has furigana. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a bland game but it's easy to hop between languages, Pokemon is always great simple it's simple dialog and has a kanji mode. Octopath Traveler has Japanese voices and lots of European languages. There's also Civ 6.

The sole things for now that caught my eye on the Switch are Taiko Tatsujin, Super Robot Taisen T, Girls und Panzer. I know there are a few other titles, but the library isnt really interesting at the moment not to mention the hardware and accessories are expensive for the "quality". Modern Nintendo first-party games arent really an argument for me either, something about them dont attract me unlike the Nintendo games from the Gamecube era and before.
I still prefer much more my Vita which I've owned since 2016, but now hacked with a sd adapter. A 9/10 handheld which could have been even better if it had more ports of PS2 games (besides the ones that were already present on the PSP) like Ace Combat, Ape Escape, Ar Tonelico, Atelier Iris, DMC, Sakura Taisen 3-4, Tales of Symphonia/Abyss, Zone of the Enders which was announced originally but got canned, etc

The setting and the world concept are both pretty interesting, and there could have been some really good stuff made with it, but instead everything about the plot is so fucking embarrassing because of one gigantic fuckup of a mistake: Rex.
It's hard to use this word these days because of how overused variations on it are, but everything about Rex genuinely just made me fucking cringe to the point where I found myself skipping a lot of the cutscenes when he started rambling about muh friends or whatever crap, or when the cutscene is about another character only for it to immediately shift focus onto Rex and his cockeating face. What's worse is that like the most generic fucking anime, his ramblings never fucking add jack shit to the cutscene, it's just pointless repetition or him acting like a complete fucking retarded cocksucking faggot for no reason. God I fucking hate Rex. If there ever was a PC release which managed to mod Rex out the plot would improve tenfold, and probably still make sense if you just made any of the other characters the main, and had them meet up with Pyra after an introduction instead.

I liked casually jumping on and playing some Splatoon online or beat a little jap kid in Mario Kart Worldwide. I enjoyed BoTW for what it was and sank a good 120+ hours into it. Yes I'm a huge faggot for liking things, I know.
I'm used to Nintendo shutting down online play for older titles, it sucked but it always meant there was a new game on the way or out already. But this time was different, everything was just ported to the Switch and shut down on the WiiU. I've literally re-bought carbon copies of the same games just so I can jump on Mario Kart online.
I lobotomized my Wii so I could transfer everything possible to the WiiU but now my consumer loyalty not only does me no good, but actively fucks me. What is the point? I'll never be able to transfer anything from the WiiU to the Switch. I have to re-purchase every title, not a sequel, BUT THE SAME FUCKING GAME TWICE.
The only truly unique games to the console I've experienced so far are Smash Bros Ultimate and Mario Odyssey. Every other IP is either a direct port from WiiU or a sequel pretending to be something new.

The dualshock 2 controller has plenty of problems, the dpad is garbage but so is nintendo's dpad and every single dpad design. The thumbsticks weren't that good, analog buttons are just plastic over rubber, that you could just barely try to make it press half way. The dualshock 4 controller is an improvement overall, there is very little downsides other than features that don't really matter like bad battery life when you could just plug the controller in like usual.
The Neo Geo controller is an example of good quality controller, it's not about the features/gimmicks of a controller that makes the controller, if the Neo ego controller was made today yeah no shit it would have another 'thumbstick' (it's not even a traditional console thumbstick, retard).

Splatoon 2 (fun online)
Mario Odyssey (fun offline, I liked the "open world" take on Mario, solid gameplay and controls)
God Wars (Not FFT but scratches at that itch. Story and characters are meh, gameplay and job system are the draw for me personally)
Dragon Quest Builders (I love DQ and this was way better than Minecraft)
On the fence:
Kirby (fucking infuriating in local multiplayer)
Pokemon Let's Go (just haven't gotten into it yet)
Considering:
Art of Balance (the demo is fun, I'm a sucker for physics puzzle games)
Octopath Traveler (I want to like this game, but fuck the translation turns me off hard)
Dead Cells (just looks sooooo polished and fun, but not really my genre)
Korg Gadget (because I like to fuck around and make shitty 90s techno)
The Messenger (not what I'm looking for, but highly recommended by my best friend)
Desert Child (I really dig the aesthetic, not sure on gameplay though)
Into the Breach (don't have it on any other platform yet, and it might have more meat on the bone than God Wars, but I'm not 100% sold on the setting (I prefer fantasy over sci fi) and it stinks like SJW)

Kirby is given primacy over the other local players. Rather than have some kind of "you can't go farther than Kirby" or "the map will zoom out as players get farther apart" they chose the retarded option of "just zoom other players back to Kirby LOL".
