Thats all I bothered to save. Shit was fun. Not 60$ fun but definitely something to come back to once in a while. The gunplay isnt as good as max payne 3 but the animations make it fun.

Its clear that the people who worked on the animations for deaths and the model damage have passion for gore. The amount of ways to kill someone is pretty large and with the addition of the "antagonize" mechanic you end up with some really intensely violent situations that feel organic.

Can't you can save KKK members by lassoing them out of trouble? Like right before they catch on fire or the cross falls on them, you can rope them to safety. I haven't tried this idea myself or know if it'll work or not. They'll probably just get mad at your "kidnapping" attempt and you'll have to run away afterwards, sure. The NPC's have 4 distinct critical areas you can see when you use dead eye. Lungs, spine, head and genitals. Each one triggers a death animation if you shoot them right. Knives and arrows and tomahawks have their own special animations depending on which critical zone you hit. If they expanded on this it would be good framework for manhunt 3. You could load up an attacks savagery and on top of that pic a critical zone to strike which would dictate the death animation.

Something about running around in a sandbox with physics. Its like smoking crack. You keep chasing those golden moments when bodies, vehicles, objects, etc mesh with animations and random environmental details to create an organic moment. nigger, cops are utterly broken in RDR2 just like every other R* game. I was getting stabbed by a Lamoyne Raider right in front of a cop in Sandy Knees and he didn't do shit and then finally i hogtied the guy stabbing me and the cop went after me. The only time cops were actually helpful in RDR2 is when the same thing happened in Valentine and I lured the gang members into the actual Sherriff's office, at which point the cops shot them so i didnt have to get wanted.

The entire logic seems to be you not "causing trouble", which the game is obsessed with. When people are fucking with you in town, you're just supposed to run away.

That might make for a lulzy video but in terms of playing the actual game, it would be counter-productive. When characters are cartoonishly racist or xenophobic on missions or outside of town, it's just shorthand for "it's morally ok to kill these guys" because the game wants you to kill them. In other words, if you don't, it's interpreted as a fail. Whereas, when the NPCs aren't overtly telegraphing their "bad guy" status through racist and xenophobic bantz, they could be morally neutral and they game may reward you later by letting them live. Generally, i try to just hog tie people instead of killing them if i can since the loot is rarely ever good. The exception is shit like the gunslingers you have to photograph, since they drop unique weapons.

The game can glitch after cutscenes. Also it is in a weird glitched state when you load in untill a few seconds after you move. If you spawn near train tracks and wait until its near you before moving and run to it you can get on and murder everyone without anyone alerting or the conductor stopping the train.

if you're referring to the guy in the cabin in the bayou who knocks you out, you're better off taking the hit to your Honor and killing him, although the way to "beat" the scenario is probably to let him rape you then kill him after (thanks Rockstar). If you let him live by hog-tying him after he rapes you (usually the optimal move), Uncle will later mock you out in camp in front of everyone in a way that implies he knows you got fucked by a dude in the swamp. The game really takes a turn for the worse (very GTA-like) after Chapter 2. The "morality" system is fucked.

Dunno if this is bad or neutral, but it's doubtful anything good would come of it so logically i'd err on the side of caution. maybe. it's hard to say with rockstar. a lot of people were disappointed with GTA IV after the novelty of the physics and detailed visuals wore off because everyone assumed after San Andreas that all of the activities and RPG-like elements would be carried-over and expanded-upon with GTA IV in addition to the insane visual upgrade we were seeing in the pre-launch stills. It didn't work out that way. RDR2 feels a lot like San Andreas all over again in a lot of ways.

They had their chance with GTAIV but left the idea half-baked, or not even in the oven to begin with, we can see that with a lot of scrap features in the first island.

Stores you can rob its cashier (the laundromats) the ATM's you were supposed to use if you wanted cash, robbing people using those, the car's trunks and extra buttons (turning it off), Brucie's garage was a custom car place, the stun punch only used in a single mission, the melee combat system which was slow but was a start.

What i wanted from Rockstar, alluded with Bully, was a "micro" criminal experience, a street thug being a hood leader. Niko jumping from that sort of thing to an executive hitman is also realistic or so to say, he was a kebab remover after all, but not the criminal Shenmue i expected. I think the company got overly ambitious and had to backtrack a lot to pull an acceptable game. Even today i think it still is quite ambitious, at least for the size of the map, too much detail and space for that sort of thing.

If you think of it, the premise is very quirky and in-tone with our lot: A kebab remover jumping on Jewtropolis, hanging with the so-called "white nigger" russians and becoming a hitman for the guinea mob who kills all kinds of jews: lawyers, labour leaders, israeli mafia, russian mafia, even albanians and niggers. Plus get blackmailed by the jew to kill UFO whistleblowers and competing drug dealers.

Shame Rockstar didn't capitalize with a lot of those things.

even if i wanted to play evil, it was pretty obvious from the start that by doing that it would foreclose a lot of later options. The morality system and mission consequences with branching story probably should have been cut in favor of encouraging a second play-through or even DLC where you play the same basic story again, but this time from the perspective of a member of another gang or faction.

I've been gifted this game for christmas and tried the online, and oh god how cancerous is the people. Still you can find one or two people who don't start killing you on sight.

In online they nerfed fishing, so it sucks now. It depends on how effective you're at at hunting, or if you want to grind missions. Either way, making money WILL be a grind if you do this, it won't be easy to get all you want. If you're actually willing to put the hours into it, the two best missions to make money are the desert mission where you kidnap the guy with the hat and bring him to the sheriff, and the other is iirc where your morals lead you, it's the first mission for the sheriff if you have high honor, and you need to track alfredo montez, and are supposed to do it stealthy. Both those missions regularly give 20-25 dollars. Otherwise hunt and kill literally everything and then sell at the butcher. Headshots if they're 3 star animals for the perfect body, or pelt, and it gives more meat, sell all the meat you don't need, always have a 2 or 3 star unskinned carcass to sell, and don't forget to get bunnys, birds and every other critter. Kill all animals, and sell everything. Also, when you can, buy the bolt-action rifle, since it has better aiming and stability for killshots on people or animals and makes getting better quality carcasses and pelts easier. And is generally better for mid to long range shooting overall. If you don't have the bolt-action rifle, you can lasso deers or bison, or other relatively large animals and kill them with your knife for a higher quality pelt, assuming the animal is high quality anyway.

I've seen some posts here praise Gun, but I played some of it last night, and while it started out okay (showing indians' savagery in the opening scene was interesting), things went downhill fast in terms of story so I don't know.

The acting is truly awful, but so were most games back then so I'd be fine with it if the writing and propaganda weren't also awful. Also the old guy in the horseriding tutorial got killed by wolves because I was too slow at trampling them (I'm retarded), then he revived for the next cutscene. A+ programming. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume it's because I'm playing a shitty port. Aside from that, the gameplay is fun but a little repetitive. Feels too rail shooter at times, which if I wanted I'd play a straight lightgun game. Probably gonna drop it, other more interesting games on my backlog at this time.
