For the sake of not suggesting F-Zero, the Jet Moto series can get pretty fast paced, especially on the more cluttered tracks(and the earlier games field more opponents on the track). Otherwise just play F-Zero or maybe Wipeout. If you want go-fast in real cars with an arcadey setting the later Need for Speed games with their drift-turbo style racing or Need for Speed III for more grippy racing with a lust for sports and exotic cars with police chases.

Why would that matter?

Sega Touring Car has serious handling issues, but it's got some dank eurobeat tunes.

Wipeout Omega in VR. Nothing else comes close in speed.

Sonic R has kind of odd gameplay that makes it fun to play under the influence but it's not driving unless you want to play as the slowest character
