Seems like morrowind gets all the good quest mods. NV doesn't get nearly as much love as MW because 3 and 4 drag it's name down; people don't realize it's made by the original fallout devs and skip over it thinking it's just fallout 3.5

I know you guys love NV and hate 4 & 76. But where does Fallout 3 lie in all this? I thought 3 and NV were rather similar tbh. But somehow, NV ended up being the beloved one for whatever reason. Meanwhile 3's popularity got hung out to dry.

This, pretty much. If you set it completely aside from the other Fallout games it's fun enough. The shooting, exploration (mostly), and quests were good. It's just the super mutants and the Enclave and the BoS and shit. The main story also has that dumb shit with the purifier, but that would be a flaw whether or not it's a Fallout game.

It's not a roleplaying game. Your actions have little effect on the world of the game. Your role in the world doesn't change much by your choices as a player.
You can like the set pieces and the gameplay(no iron sights btw) in 3but New Vegas actually has a world and world building even if your choices only change a slideshow at the end. On top of that, it has better if not the same gameplay and better set pieces.

I liked it fine but I was new to fallout having never played computer games until I built my own. Honestly, I like the environments better in Fallout 3 and the music too, but New Vegas seems more Fallout-y now that I've played a bit of the first game. I tend to value exploring and finding shit over story and paths and lore though. The environment in Fallout 3 told more of the story and you have to listen more in New Vegas. A nude mod helps both games become more realistic in a non fapping way.

Just finished Lonesome road for the first time. didn't like it that much, I liked ed-e but aside from him I thought it was meh, I especially dont like how it tries to give your character a backstory even though I am still not sure what the divide even is.

It's pretty straightforward. The Divide is a big town in the middle of a devastatingly huge engineered storm (from Big MT), which grew due to the work of several couriers (one which may or may not be The Courier). Someone delivered a nuke button which automatically detonates, destroying the town. Now the already destructive storms are amplified by the radiation, heat, and explosions. IIRC, it's only alleged as every dialogue option involving Ulyssess offers a "you're crazy, you've got the wrong guy" option (though I could be wrong).

If you just want to play vanilla anything that makes the animations not look like hot dogshit are welcome. Asurahs animations are great, but the third person animations are unfinished. Delete them and install Weapon Animations Replacer for third person and wait for Asurah to finally finish their mod because the third person animations that they have completed are really good. Also get diagonal movement.
Western skies is really good for outdoor lighting. More atmospheric than "realistic", though.
Oh, and Yukichigai Unofficial Patch, because modders have to fix the developers shit, apparently.
