What are the best games that made the best use of the Wii's motion controls? I remember playing the shit out of this. I never 100% it though, and could only get to the purple mirrors with the backwards named bosses, and I think there was at least one more mirror boss or set of mirror bosses unlocked after those. If I had a Switch, this is a game I'd want ported to it. Are there any other Wii games that could make use of the improved motion crontrols on the Switch? They have improved right? Nintendo isn't seriously using the same grade of motion controls they were two console ago, right?

I remember fucking hating that game because the french bitch constantly going

OH BLADE MY HERO

OH BLADE MY HERO

OH BLADE MY HERO

OH BLADE MY HERO

OH BLADE MY HERO

OH BLADE MY HERO

It was really annoying. Also I heard red steel 2 was the game that best used the wii motion controls, I wouldn't know I dont buy ubisoft games.

I think she only did that when she casts a spell, but I can't recall if you had full control over when she casts spells or not.

Red Steel 2 was pretty good.

Motion controls on Switch aren't quite the same as the Wii's. It's less motion control and more gyroscope controls. It can kind of sense what you're doing, but the Switch has no sensor bar, so pointing and shooting isn't a thing it can do.

red steel 2, a shame about the low field of view, no more heroes used every gimmick about the wiimote but it's not a good game

There is the infrared camera from the red joycon but you would have to have a 'sensor bar' behind you.

I don't know if using the Wiimote as a lightgun counts as WAGGLAN

>What are the best games that made the best use of the Wii's motion controls?

One of my favorite Wii games is Red Steel 2. It's a first-person shooter with guns and a sword and you can seamlessly swap between any of them. Think of it a bit like Shadow Warrior. They really nailed the combat in it, I replayed it several times.

It still has a number of issues that could have been ironed out, and that's what pisses me off about the Wii. Most games were using motion controls as just a shitty gimmick (shake to attack), but a few were using the controller really well and were really fun to play. Yes, they were rough, but that's always the case with new technology. And instead of building upon that experience and iterating to make really good games, every developer (including Nintendo) dropped the Wii like a hot potato once they made enough money off it.

I really enjoyed Elebits.

I just want Dragon Quest Swords 2.

The switch is on fire in Japan and the Swords sub-series is distinct enough to market itself, so here's hoping. I was genuinely impressed with how much post-game content there was, and I hope Swords 2 takes the legacy boss idea from IX and runs with it.

There really isn't unless Nintendo releases a new and improved motion sensor bar for the Switch. >>15890471

Regular Wiimote

>Metroid Prime 3 (also some nice environmental puzzles with switches, levers, pump motions)

>Cursed Mountain (even if you fuck up a motion, the game gives you enough leeway to try again)

>No More Heroes (satisfying to use for finishing moves, but I think the game cheats and just registers any direction regardless of what the on screen visual indicator says)

>Pandora's Tower

>WarioWare Smooth Moves (fuck that Mini Wario boss battle dance mini game though)

Motionplus using

>Wii Sports Resort (the pack in game has to do it's job right?)

>Red Steel 2 as everyone else has mentioned

>TLoZ Skyward Sword (though stabbing had annoying lag)

Has anyone played Boom Blox or it's sequel, it's motion controls were good right?

You can have pointer controls, just using gyro like how the Switch version of World of Goo does it (vid related). You just need to calibrate the screen centre at start up. All the sensor bar did for the Wii (and Wii U) was provide two points of infrared light for the Wiimote infrared sensor to triangulate distance with.

ada993  No.15903630

I liked how the Metroid Prime Trilogy used the thing, expecially Metroid Prime 3

Warioware Smooth Moves was some pretty fun wagglan. Wario Land Shake It isn't exactly "wagglan", but it is a must play. Im not entirely sure whether or not nintendo's motion controls have improved or not since the only game I've played that used them was ARMS and I returned it in under a week.

>Has anyone played Boom Blox or it's sequel, it's motion controls were good right?

I played both of them. They mostly use the pointer, with motion controls being used just for force. For example, you aim with the pointer where you want to throw the ball, then you hold down the button, make a throwing motion and release the button. All that matters it the force you release it with (and of course where you were aiming at), but the motion itself of the toss is not important. It works pretty well that way.

The game itself has many modes of play, and not all of them use throwing. There is for example a lightgun mode where you just point and shoot, or a Jenga-like mode where you pull out blocks using the pointer like a mouse cursor. The pointer is the most exact part of the original Wiimote controls, so that was a good choice.

>>15903630

I hated the gimmicky motion "puzzles". The gameplay with the pointer for aiming was fantastic, but all those gimmicks you constantly had to do with the motions were bullshit. The novelty was lost after the first time already, but they kept doing it throughout the whole game. Instead of just pressing a button to interact and have it done in like a second, you now had to pull back the remote, twist it and push it back in for no good reason. Once or twice is tolerable, but this crap adds up.

It's really a shame the Wii was not used for more FPS games, it was the perfect console for this sort of gameplay. When I look back at the Wii I see nothing but wasted potential.
