In descending order of best to worst

I don't think anything reaches the level of the best of the best of this genre. Doom, Descent, Tribes, Blood, Hexen, Douk, Fear, Dark Forces 2, these games are simply too good to be matched Unfortunately the best isn't what's longer consistent.

>Third Person Shooters

See above. Payne, Vanquish, Gungrave, Ratchet, unfortunately this one feels more butchered than FPSs nowadays.

>ARCADE Racing games

While their best like Burnout, Wipeout, kart racers and whatnot are great, there isn't really that much progression to put them on the level of TPS/FPS

>Action RPGs

I'm assuming this to be the likes of DMC, NG, Ys, Zelda, Darksiders, Souls, Nioh, etc.. I like them but I lose interest in them fairly quickly.

>Platformers

Good 2d movement is absurdly satisfying.

>cRPGs

Too much of a brainlet to like these too much

>Metriodvanias

A lot of them completely miss the whole point of metroidvanias and are shit, but the good ones are too memorable to not mention.

Again, too much of a brainlet to enjoy these as much as I do others

All fine by me.

I just don't like them and can never get past the 30 minute mark with any of these, with the sole exception of Trails in the Sky for some reason.

>Puzzle Games

A good chunk of them are way too easy for my tastes, but they make for good vidya sittings with my older sister

Never tried any besides Rance, which I can see the appeal of.

A lot of them get old within 20 minutes and then there's barely a reason to play. Roguelite should be a seperate game mode, not an entire game.

They could be good games, but they focus too much on esportsfaggotry which in turn causes the community to focus on esportsfaggotry which sucks all the fun out of the game, even if you're deliberately trying to have fun the game or the players will eventually have you lose your way. Trash.

None of this really matters anyway because any genre can have dogshit games and any subgenre can have them as well. For instance, JRPGs are full of terrible games as well as CRPG and WRPGs, but when the genre shines it shines like burning magnesium.
