What’s /v/‘s opinion on the new Atlas game coming out? I for one feel like I’m in a dream. A pirate themed online game, with a destructable environment, players being able to take over and govern islands, then tax others to live in their territory, supposedly 1,200x bigger than ARK, naval warfare, diving, and eventually they plan to make your characters die, so you have to mate with other players to pass on your stats.

Wildcard is owned by a chink company, because the founder couldn't keep his dick in his pants for 12 months regarding making games.

Not only that, but the internals of the company are just as bad as any AAA studio (absolute dogshit management, incompetent coders / play-testers) and their flagship game is only worth playing with a fuckton of mods on an unofficial server/single-player and even then the AI is retarded and just about everything breaks in some way.

This time, they don't have the niche of being the only dinosaur taming sim on the market and it has copy-pasted assets from ARK. It will be complete trash and I hope it kills wildcard.

I expect it to be terrible but I'm going to buy it anyway. If it's shit, then really only the first few days/weeks will be worthwhile due to player shenanigans. If it turns out to be good, you have the advantage of playing from release. Not interested in any other games currently so the expected $30 price tag isn't a big deal.
