Shiki can kill servants, but only if he pushes himself to see their points of death (as was explained in Arc's route, this could result in him ending up as a vegetable) and only if he can strike their points of death first before getting killed. The reason for that is because servants still "exist" as a concept within the Throne that is summoned into the world as a result of a HGW. It was also explained in Tsukihime that the logic behind Mystic Eyes of Death Perception is that everything with an origin must have an end and it's likely that because of that, humans die when their points are cut. It doesn't matter whether a servant's origin is that of themselves during their lifetime or of Alaya/Counter Force's reconstruction of them, as long as they exist they possess an origin.
This means that servants will end up completely erased from existence if their points of death are pierced. I want a fourth F/SN route where Archer teams up with Shiki to destroy all servants including himself and derail the grail war completely with Alaya flipping the FUCK out because servants are getting destroyed and summoning Counter Guardians left and right.

Just finished Babylonia today. Was 10/10.
Especially the part with the 10 Bel Lahmu with Merlin as support. Went with Emiya and Saber and had a load of fun just tearing through shit.
But for the last fight I had to bring in Gil, because it was only the right thing to do. My own, of course.

Hahahaha, not even nearly. The rates are pretty damn forgiving and the power creep hasn't invalidated nearly as much as in the other suspects. The two biggest issues really are that you don't get a guaranteed summon after spending a specific amount(for stopping the whales from whoring themselves to the streets) and that we're not getting nearly as much SQ as JP got.

Yes there's a limit but they'll likely keep adding more. Anyway think hard before you actually grail Ibaraki. She's one of the ideal zerkers for hard content due to a debuff clear/heal, tankiness, short cooldowns and a teamwide buff that also buffs her np damage whilst already buffing her attack. Unlike Herc she's also a team player despite her personality. However, most of the game isn't hard content so saving and deciding to grail Penth or Nobu is fine too. It's really all up to you. Personally I've grailed Raikou and Ibaraki both to level 100.

Since most of the game is farming I plan on grailing servants I deem the best farmers in the future as well as other servants I like. In a way there are two Tiamat's. The original Tiamat, the one from creation, was a normal primordial goddess (or at least, as normal as a primordial goddess can be), who was responsible for "birthing" life into the world, and was discarded by the gods, being cast into imaginary number space and essentially becoming increasingly insane. But in spite of this, she retained a degree of her rationality.
In Babylonia, Tiamat is not much different from a Servant. Just like Servants are summoned from the Throne of Heroes, Tiamat appears through the Independent Manifestation skill - the Class Skill of class "Beast" in her form as the Blackened Indian Ocean, with Femme Fatale as a manifestation of her brain. Since she's appeared in the form of Beast II, her behavior is bounded - in the same way that Gorgon, Medusa, and Ana are all fragments, but complete people in their own right. Nevertheless, even in that state, the "loving mother" aspect of Tiamat was still restraining the full degree of destruction she was capable of performing. Rational, but irrational. Killing the Femme Fatale caused her to instead manifest the Titan form, which was motivated entirely by its instincts and had no restraints.
When she gets dropped into the Underworld, her Regression to the Age of Gods goes out of fucking whack, and she enters into her dinosaur-like form - essentially reaching her "true" status, equivalent to the Tiamat in Imaginary Number Space which couldn't manifest in the surface world normally. This would be bad, but since the rules of the Underworld meant that nothing else was a "alive", she lost her inability to be killed (I think she gets this one from the Nega-Genesis skill?) - but she still didn't have a concept of death, until King Hassan applies it to her, making her able to died and able to be killed, albeit with a great deal of difficulty, since you still need to bypass her Bel Lahmu (and according to Nasu, just one of them equates to like six Demon God Pillars), the Chaos Tide, and her own combat abilities. Something you accomplish by the help of multiple goddesses, two grand Servants (or technically two Servants which qualify as Grand), and Gilgamesh pulling some major bullshit (i.e. summoning himself without the Independent Manifestation skill).
All this said - She needed to be killed, bound or not, loving or not loving, because her existence prevents humanity from achieving any form of growth. Which ties to:

Beasts exist because of what humans are. The Black Mud, Angra Mainyu, exists because of what humans wish to have. Hence why Beasts are "Beasts", and the Black Mud is an "Avenger". The way Manjew's Bond CE touches on it - Beasts are evils of humanity, Avengers curse/mock/whatever the evils of humanity.
That said, the Black Mud is still called an Evil of Humanity, and the Grail from Prototype is able to manifest Beast VI - it's possible that Manjew could also become the Beast class. In any event, post-Hollow Manjew, having overcome his own nature, found a form of peace, and helped Bazzett do the same, has some form of conceptual advantage over the Beast class.

He summoned his past self too. He died(?), so he was in the underworld and then respawned as his past archer self. Then after Tiamat falls, he reverts back to his older caster self. That's how I read it at least unless Caster Gil was hiding in the background after he summoned Archer Gil. Archer Gil is the gil that went after immortality and Caster Gil is when he spent his final days as king. That's what he implies and states in game at least

There's a possibility that the grail was made to attract curses. Someone mentioned some discoveries that the japanese have made, noticing that the first made grail was made from Rheingold (cursed gold). Irisviel's dress used trace amounts of it. And there was a small moment in one of the other games where Illya was singing 'Die Lorelei". Using the cursed gold of the river Rhein, the holy grail naturally attracted curses, which in turn attracted Angra.

That's not completely accurate - It's a monster that Gilgamesh and Enkidu defeated together. Humbaba, based on Enkidu's bond CE, was a creature to surpass Enkidu, but nothing suggests it was on the same level as a Divine Beast like the Bull of Heaven, which did require the two struggling together to defeat. Ibaraki, with the help of a bunch of a small legion of bandits, shouldn't be counted out entirely - though it does, admittedly, seem like a long shot.

The story explains this a bit. Divine Spirits are heavily impacted based off of the "domain" they cover. If a god is a god of "War", then they have a very simple area to cover, and they're going to be disposed against humanity. On the other hand, a goddess of "War and Wisdom" has more things going on in her head, and is thus more 'human'. Ishtar covers a huge range of domains, and because of that, she's actually very close to being 'human' right off the bat - when you stick her in Rin, and make her 40% Rin, then she's going to be very human-like. Ereshkigal doesn't cover as wide of a region in the original myth, but the F/GO version also essentially has the full set of domains she stole from Nergal, plus the benefit of being 'twinned' to Ishtar - make her 40% Rin, and the same thing holds true. In any event, even before Rinninism, neither were natural enemies to humanity.
Tiamat is very simple - she makes babies, and an infinite number of them. It's a domain which is not just simple, but it's also not needed by humanity. She's a natural enemy to humanity.

Mordred isn't evil by a long shot and is plenty likable to begin with. Alter doesn't mean evil. Artoria Alter is more ruthless than anything else and her actual personality is just lazy neet. Even Demiya's still a guardian of mankind, not to mention Okitan.
A pretty big part of Mordred's character is that she isn't evil despite all her mother's bullshit, so they absolutely could go with a straight evil version of her, though Proto Mordred might be better suited for that. A Mordred that Artoria accepted could also be possible, though that seems more suited for a Lostbelt Mordred, given that Artoria's acceptance would naturally lead into King Mordred, who given those circumstances would end up as Morgana's puppet regardless, due to the curse on her that gives her Battle Continuation. Using Artoria Alter is a comparison (Hard-working, level-headed knight becomes a sarcastic, lazy neet), I think the most likely Mordred Alter would be a version of her that focuses on her insecurities since she's usually confident, making her self-disparaging instead of self-assured.

You can Alter any Servant, including ones with an 'Evil' alignment. The difference is that things like the Grail Mud are more effective against 'Good' alignment, and can corrupt easier. Yeah early game my biggest issue was survival as well but I've farmed events really hard and maxed out nearly everyone and have at least 4/4/4 or higher on skills. Max fous on the servants you use most frequently and after that all that matters is the right team comp + solid CEs.
George's 3 turn taunt makes him one of the best picks for tanking ST damage and if you're going against AOE then david & mash got that covered. 4* & 5* CE's make the real difference between keeping low star servants viable in any situation unless it's a berserker. Most berserkers not including herc/cuzilla because they're extremely broken will get their shit slapped with a single crit and heavily rely on evades/def up or top tier CE's like volumen to keep on chugging along. Most of the time you farm with them though so it's not like you care how much hp sparty has when his sole purpose is to evaporate the wave in one turn using his NP. A good team comp killing stuff fast is often the best method of survival though. Otherwise hans/mash will let you stall for all eternity if you'd like.
The biggest bullshit of the game is that many ascension/skill up materials are best farmed from events so you're stuck getting your shitter slammed relying on supports to get the job done but once you have your essential servants maxed out preferably at 6/6/6 skill levels you're ready to take on almost anything.

On the one hand while some Heroes can do well with basically any IV set and pull off skillsets you don't expect, some are crippled without optimal IVs. There's no reason to grail tamamo to 100 unless you want to show it off on your supports and love her to death, on the gameplay side however a strong SSR like cuzilla will get a reasonable boost but with the difficulty of the game I wouldn't pick him either.
But grailing a 1-3* to 90 or higher? Huge payoff and some of them are real fun to use but their stats keep them from remaining viable for too long. Do whatever you like with grails obviously but if I had to choose between giving my cute jack 5 grails or putting them into making a great low stat servant into a powerhouse I'd still go with that.

I get what you're saying but calling herk/cuzilla grails "gameplay" is misleading. I fucking love using mozart and spartacus but only spartacus could be seen as a grail target due to how much he benefits from them so that makes it a decision based off gameplay reasons. There should be a different way of calling grails for meta reasons rather than pairing them together with gameplay and making it look bad.

In every Nasuverse story, the priest archetype is usually filled by someone who is either Chaotic Evil or Neutral Evil. Amakusa was the antagonist of Apocrypha, as well. I'm not saying all Characters who happen to be Christian are made evil, I'm saying that characters who are Christian first and foremost - as in, a huge part of their character - are usually the big bad or at least some kind of negative force. Caren and Ciel come to mind. Of course, as you've said, this isn't the case for George, Jeanne and Martha (with the exception of Summer Martha whose character is very oddly written and not fitting at all). Plus, I don't think anyone would look at Astolfo and say he portrays Christianity at all, let alone in a positive light. Kirei is explicitly noted to have been held back from being as awful as he could have been by his father's religious upbringing. In another context, he could have become an absolute monster much earlier. His wish on the Grail - to understand himself - is because he can't reconcile his own existence with his faith.
The Church as a whole is not entirely made of Christians, either. Ciel is explicitly a non-believer. Many of the people who are Executors, or involved in the other covert shit, are operating outside of the realms of Scripture. They're not "good" people, but they stop even worse things. It should be noted that the criticisms of the Church made by Caren and Ciel are based on the organizational structure, not the concept - the same goes for Rin, who doesn't necessarily dislike Christianity, but can't associate herself with it because of Kirei. It's also worth noting that of the "problem children", they're all operating on the "dark side" - contrast Risebyfe, who worked as a knight (not "public" per say, but still operating under the normal Church hierarchy) and school instructor, and is a genuinely good and moral person.
If you want a better understanding of how the Nasuverse treats the Church, you need to consider how it treats the Clock Tower, the Wandering Sea, Atlas, and every other covert organization in the story. None of them are 'good' organizations, even when they do 'good' overall, or have 'good' individuals in them. Incidentally, most of the stories in this setting focus on the 'outliers' - Shirou, Rin, Waver, Flat, and so forth are all exceptions. (You), in F/GO, are an exception. The same rule applies to the antagonists - Kirei, Zouken, Araya, Amakusa, and nearly every other major antagonist is an exception in some way. Which, for the record, is why the poster boy Mage in Part II is the boss of Lost Belt #5, while the psychotic werewolf and the troubled genius get #6 and #7 - if you're a run of the mill priest/Mage/vampire/whatever, your designated role in the story is to get fucked.
If you really want to wax poetic on the Church, it's worth noting that the big issue the Japs have isn't Christianity, it's the Catholic Church, and to a lesser extent, organized religion. And there's a very long history behind that, exacerbated by the fact that there is a very long history of terrible humans serving as Catholic missionaries. They don't mind portraying Christian saints as good people, or Jesus as a good guy, or whatever else, because it makes sense they would be.

It would be an interesting read, either way it's just my own personal experience. My first 5-star was Alterra and that was my first ever roll, wasnt even familiar then about the shit rates. I got Jack on a roll after taking a long break during the summer Beach event. Jalter was almost the same thing, I stopped playing for a few months after the Beach event, accumulated a bunch of quartz from maintenance shit and then my continued playthrough of the main story after I came back and I rolled a bunch of times for her and on the last roll she answered the call.
Then I heard that Raikou's banner was coming and I threw another bunch of quartz at her and the end result was a bunch of shit CE and 3 stars. I had been playing almost non-stop by then, just gathering embers and mats and advancing the story little boy little when I felt like it. That fucking Thanksgiving banner seemed to drop just drop shit, left and right.

It's not Barbatos debuffing you, it's ALL the other ones. The way it works is the Demon Pillars that are still alive can randomly debuff you when you are fighting different ones.
Functionally, it doesn't matter, since you can just use Debuff Clease either way.

It really does feel like there are periods of time in both gachas where you get more/less servants per 10 roll. At least for me I've observed on both of my accounts there are occasions where nearly every 10 fp roll gets you 1-2 3* servants and other times there's never ending dry streaks of bronze trash and nothing more. Only gotten a sad vlad spook on the SQ gacha so far but I'm not gonna put in more than 10 tickets when first hassan is right around the corner.

Right this here is were I believe they dropped the ball a bit. With Barbeque gone we had a little cutscene about clearing a path but nothing that would even show a little that the tentacles struggle like they did in the cutscene where all the servants appeared. Some acknowledgment would be nice since this is the "final" we're talking about and we're on the offense

In story terms, the Heroic Spirits in each sector are essentially killing the Pillars at a faster rather than they can regenerate. You come in, there's 9 pillars there. The gang comes in, starts killing them, until eventually they hold enough of an advantage to make it whack-a-mole.
The difference here is that eventually, even with all of the mana that Merlin is pumping in from Avalon, the summoned Heroic Spirits will start to run dry, and the Pillars will get the upper hand again. So once each sector is suppressed enough that you can get into the heart of the Time Temple without getting pillar raped yourself, it's a matter of stopping whatever's inside before (a) it can complete its plan, and (b) enough of your own allies begin to fade away, that they lose.
That said, a lot of this Nasu brought up after the fact, such as in the CCC Event. The way the event itself is written, plus the way it goes down in game terms, doesn't really lend to the "impossible battle" idea very well. Especially when you get shit like "I came here to laugh at you" Ozy and Gilgamesh.

I've found my new dream team. Mash + Waver + Merlin. It's hilarious. I can triple NP every other turn and the buffs stack to ridiculous levels when enemies' NPs do 0 damage. Of course, it takes a lot of time to actually kill anyone but it's still fun. In chapter 15-5 of Babylon, I could NP every turn thanks to Gorgon's AoE attack which did 0 damage but it took me 32 turn to kill her. I ended with max HP of course.

Waver is redundant for that strategy - Mashu and Merlin cover the ATK Up buffs, while Mashu has good enough DEF buffs when combined with Merlin's heal. You're better off for your third man to be a Servant with a triple arts deck and good NP generation, like Medea, or good damage, like EMIYA. Keep in mind it only works to full potential on enemies like Gorgon who inflict multiple hits per attack.

It's more precise to say, Merlin is one of the three best Support Servants:
Merlin is the best Buster Support, if solely for the Hero Creation skill, which is stronger than some Noble Phantasms - and that's only a fraction of what he can do. His heals and star gen from his NP, plus his ability to tank 80% of AoE NPs when they first go off using his second skill, make him top-tier for any difficult content that bleeds into multiple turns.
However, Merlin can only generate 20% NP. Waver, on the other hand, has an additional +30% NP, and a higher ATK UP skill. For farming - which is 80% of the game - Waver can do a lot more for you than Merlin can, in all but a small number of cases (like the pillars). This means that even in the Age of Merlin, he's still an amazing option to have.
Then there's Skadi. She's nearly two years out from now, but her skill kit is Merlin-tier in regards to Quick Servants. But that's not really relevant to NA for the moment.

Nightingale seems pretty serviceable to me. Not the best, but not the worst, but she's deffinitely a cutie. Jing Ke however is a top tier qt with a pretty great personality who would have been a very popular waifu if only her art wasn't so damn hideous. I hear LB3 did a lot of justice to her character, though, hope that's true.
There's also the small minority of top tier qts who have a great design but get massively shafted in story. Fuck Sakurai forever for making Lancer Alter only appear in London to get killed with no dialogue whatsoever; every subsequent appearance she's had devolved into only boob jokes and her My Room lines only having her pondering whether she's real. Hell, she hints to know that the grail is tainted and her CE outright says she used the grail's taint to remain human, but nothing more. Some CE's look so damn good that they can redeem shitty servant art. I really dislike jing ke & nurse just due to their awkward pose and their eyes. Saber Lancelot also suffers from having a fucked up face and an oddly-shaped body but his ingame sprite looks perfectly fine. Sprites get updates but I've never heard of art getting redrawn.

I feel as if it's best to stop rolling when you aren't getting anything and try again later. I put in 400+ and got some nice 4-stars, but no dick wizard. I did a random roll at like 3 in the morning when I no longer cared and then he decided to show up. I wouldn't spend money for anything other than the guaranteed gacha and even then, I wouldn't spend more than I'm willing to lose. It's the same with gambling. Never spend more than you're willing to burn.

Jailter hits like a truck when she can get a np chain going. Her np is aoe, so I didn't think it would hit that hard, but it hits pretty damn hard. Her buster crit hit as hard as her np. Sab loves to erase her if she doesn't kill him in one turn though.
I also look forward to getting Herc or Cu Alter someday and getting to experience their shenanigans first hand.

Didn't do it all at once, 10 rolls every few hours spaced out for a couple of days. No salt since I did get NP2 sad vlad and a handful of SR's and a fucking stheno right at the end for my final 10 roll to rub it in but most of their NP's will remain weak compared to NP5 3 stars. Alt account had SSRs flying into it's lap on single ticket rolls out of the blue and I don't even play on it so it's gonna happen here eventually. In the meantime some lucky guy is getting a lore for his buster buff tonight.
