The R1 and left analog stick are already busted. I used this for 1 and a half year. Why are these modern technology so fucking cheap? Can anyone recommend a controller that doesn't break down like a bitch after a while, I feel as I'm getting older the more I'm careful in not buying trash.

Sucks OP, haven't had many issues with DS4, only one in about 40 or so showed major issues with its left analog stick not resetting properly. Avoid Xbone pads, they're even worse and far more prone to breaking. Wii U pro is good, I've yet to try out those recent Saturn USB ones but I'm curious about them.

To both save on production cost and make you buy another sooner? DS3 was also rather bad about wearing down too fast; friend's been through at least three for his PS3. Though, for what it's worth, I'm still using my first and and it works just fine.

Something wrong with you. I have a launch Dual Shock 4 that I used exclusively with my PC for years, and all I've ever had to do with it was replace the battery once, and get caps for the analog sticks as the coating was wearing through to the plastic underneath. I used the controller so much that I completely wore the print off of the label on the underside.

A genuine used wii u pro should be 30 dollars tops. Beware of chink ones and the feel is similar to the 360 pad, a little heavier however. It has good quality d pad and the analog stick orientation makes claw gripping feasible. The battery life from my experience is incredible. I've had mine last me months of use before blinking for a charge. I think this is because it literally uses a 3ds battery. I hear 60 and 80 hours tossed around frequently.

Xbone controllers are terrible, Lb, Rb will break down on you after 1 month of heavy usage, give or take. The elite controllers are also awful, the rubber padding on the grips have a tendency to peel and the sticks will become loose.
Only controller that's not broken down on me is the switch/WiiU pro controller, anything pre PS2, and the 360 controller.
If you want a decent D-pad though, I'd suggest maybe avoiding the switch pro controller as it tends to read up inputs as diagonal too easily.

The xbox 360 wired controllers have two defects. A misfire on the left bumper and an often poor right analog (grinds and squeaks). This can be corrected, but why waste your time? The weak usb cable will break eventually. The PDP xbox one controllers seem to be a better option for a $20-$30 controller. It uses micro usb so a superior cable can be purchased for it. If OP uses a controller often, then he is going to need to replace it every year regardless of what is purchased.

I'm a firm believer of having different controllers for different games but if I had to rate mine…
#1 Xbox 360 controller for best ergonomics hands down. Great for 3rd person games of all stripes. Dpad sucks though. First choice for most games but is pretty worn out and has stick drift so been thinking of replacing it.
#2 DS3 for button layout and a great dpad. Ergonomics are so-so, and has terrible triggers. I personally had to modify mine due to hand cramps.
Only use it with my ps3 these days.
#3 Logitech F310 A generic seeming controller with a DS3 layout but Xbox 360-esque ergonomics. Good for side scrollers and RPGS, but is loud, has hugeass deadzones, and has horrific triggers.
Supports directinput so it works with some older games.
#4 Saitek Cyborg 3D rumble force.
A strange beast from the early 2000s, has a button layout resembling a sega saturn pad in some aspects, has only 2 bumper buttons, no triggers, and the sticks have a massive area to move in. Ergonomically not that bad, love the dpad on this one and it's my preferred controller for side scrollers/fighting games. Rarely use it.

My post disappeared. The DS3 is far superior to the DS4, only superior thing the DS4 has are the triggers. I had 3 DS3's yet I don't know know where they went, I hope my current one doesn't crap out anytime soon.

DS4 doesn't have the touchpad. The touchpad is actually very useful when used on a PC. Actual PS4 games barely ever use it well, but on PC you can map it to be a bunch of extra buttons (since clicking the left, right, and top of the touchpad actually are buttons, not to mention tapping different spots), and you can use it to control the cursor, so I don't have to use a mouse to switch games and stuff. It's super useful.

That's pretty neat but the analog sticks are tiny and don't have as much movement as the DS3 also feel that the DS3 has a better shape to it. I remember the first time holding a DS4 controller I was disgusted with it. Xbone honestly has a better controller.

Are we actually forgetting that a Xenomorph is posting on 8chan and getting back on topic?

I bought xbox360 pad for my pc because it's natively supported
Would prefer wii u or switch controller because it doesn't have the retarded button placement but that shit doesn't work out of the box from what I heard
