Oath in Felghana is the one I played, which is a remake of III. I & II features a different style of combat, Origin is probably the best place to start both story-wise and mechanically, it's a prequel to the whole series with the PS2-era style combat. The newer games (7+8) have a more traditional third-person camera if the three-quarters perspective puts you off.

Expect whatever you choose to be a fair bit more difficult than KH. I also really enjoyed Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure.
