To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Death Stranding. The symbolism is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical movie-making most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Kojima's outlook, which is deftly woven into characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from The Portopia Serial Murder Case, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Death Stranding truly ARE idiots - of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in existential symbolism of baby, which itself is a cryptic reference to Gainax's epic Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Hideo Kojima's genius wit unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

The first is alright but I've never liked it that much mainly because there were better stealth games at the time and the only thing this had over it was presentation, which is really nothing special if you give it a try now.
The second game is fun and I like it, outside of some heavy backtracking and an escort mission near the middle of the game.
The third game is excellent but I sort of dislike the menu management.

It's more of an action adventure game than a TPS
