>What is it?
A metriodvania/metriodlike(whatever floats your boat anon) set in a dimensionally screwed up high school.
>This looks ugly as shit anon, why would you talk about this
The gameplay is pretty fun, you get four skills+a dash(you can switch to eight skills later but that's not a big of a deal), all with different attributes and methods of use(it starts off as normal push/launch/combo attacks but then it gets creative with mines, teleporting behind you, summoning a pillar of lightning, etc). It makes for some fun times, especially when upgrading skills gives them bonus abilities or just straight up appearance changes
It's pretty funny and not in the overly obnoxious way. The game is 99% from start to finish comedy, with a bit of dark shit being thrown right at the end before going to back to comedy. Those skills I mentioned? They're all chapters of a self help book. The pillar of lightning ability? Shocking Statements.
You never really get the itch to grind for exp, it's very plentiful and well distributed
It has some really nice boss fights(the first fight against Monica is really good, and both fights against karate man are quite fun)
It has easily one of the most radical final boss fights and sequences possible
It's filled to the brim with mostly good content
Cool settings, it's mostly set in a high school where the classrooms are twisted reflections of their subjects, the history room has you leading Julius Ceaser, Gengis Khan and Napleon on a fight against fucking goblins, the literature classroom ranges from folk tales to lord of the rings, it's pretty fun.
>Sounds great, what's bad about it?
Music is pretty much non existent sans for repetitive 30 second loops and a really cool final boss theme
A lot of the skills become obsolete fairly quickly, and a lot of the skills are pretty much useless and would never be used if they weren't featured in the weapons training challenges where you are given equipment and a specific set of skills to play with.
Could have done more with the Honor Students since outside of Monica and T.K they're all beaten in joke cutscenes, especially Jonny
A lot of the sidequests are straightforward MMO kill x ys or get x ys and it gets really exhausting if you're looking for 100% completion
No Newgame+(Or more accurately I couldn't find one and I deserve bullying if I'm wrong), making that overpriced vendor in the art gallery who sold shit like "Daryl can now talk" and "You can now use all skills at once" probably just joke items too which is disappointing
Going Super Deluxe is reserved for the excellent final boss, but he is essentially a joke boss in of it's own and should have been at least a new game+ mode too.
The final D&D quest crashes the game when you scroll down to it
It looks ugly as shit, yeah it's on purpose but it's still ugly.
>Where do I get it
Steam, silly boy, you wouldn't want to be one of those meanie pirates would you?
