installed the mobile app. i cant fathom anybody playing runescape on a phone with a shitty small touch-screen that hardly recognizes the part of the screen you're trying to touch.

imagine if i told you that everytime you go click on an item and then click "use", there's a 33% chance that you'll click "eat" or any of the actions in the menu that opens up that are below or above the one you wanted. thats what playing OSRS on a phone feels like. im not even an ham-handed amerifat, my fingers are of normal size for an adult male.

i can however see the mobile app as sort of a skilling interface. because skilling hardly takes any complex, fast-paced clicking. just click on that fishing spot and let your character do its thing while you're on your daily normalfag commute to whatever normalfag activity keeps you alive.

Osrs is still kino. Quests specifically are interesting with memorable characters and always have some sort of humor. PK is fun with as much depth as you want to get from it, although not super accessible since you'll get stomped until you get gud. The game has way way too much grind at high levels, but there's tons of content avaliable before level 50-60 in each skill. Besides, I recognize the grind at super high levels is what has enabled rs to maintain such a stable player base since the people who play for years on end still never cap out completely 99.999% of the time.

yeah just gotta stay away from kourend "content". maybe only for the slayer tasks and woodcutting guild. those NPCs are uncanny valley as fuck and the entire map is so based on world of warcraft aesthetics it might as well be a crossover.

I went out and bought a cheap 2$ stylist pen for touch screen and it works way better than my finger when playing OSRS, if I mute my phone all I can hear is the constant tapping of the pen on my phones screen, much faster than a mouse

it's a great feeling crashing hill giants away from another player at the edgeville dungeon because you react faster

Haven't touched Kourend yet since grinding for "favor" doesn't sound like a ton of fun to me. Sad to hear it's shit, my understanding is that the only new content has been pretty decent since anything shit gets polled out. I played for years as a kid, but only got back into osrs a month or so ago

Y'all should check out /v/scape. It's a halfchan creation but the player base (30-40 at peak hours 10 on the off hours) is pointedly uncucked and only maintains the /vg/ thread as advertisement.

There's been a few threads on full/v/ but there's just not enough players here to maintain them.

Kourend is really only good if you need like, a shitload of planks and don't want to run to Shilo and back to the lumbermill/bank for lunar runes

I still pop in from time to time to do some F2P skilling when I have absolutely nothing else I feel like doing. The new mobile client definitely helps in that respect.

Plus there's nothing quite like the feeling of forcing a guy to change worlds after he stepped up to your iron spot and he can't get a single fucking ore away from you on your god damn wifi connection with touchscreen controls, they should be embarrassed.
