You probably mistook diameter for volume. Mars is a little less than half as big in diameter as Earth, if it had been bigger, it wouldn't have cooled down to the point of losing its magnetic field and most of its atmosphere. Mars is pathetic. It has 9 mbar of pressure at its surface, and anyone talking about geoengineering it is very naive.
