I had fun with the vanilla game back in the day and finished it, it stands on its own. Besides, not every 1.13 addition is great, I mean the Drassen counterattack is a tedious event, once you've trained roaming packs of militia outside cities they will murder almost every enemy wave they come across outside cities making the game easier than it already is, the gear management is kind of a pain at times and I haven't followed the development but there's probably way more autistic shit tacked unto it that I'm not aware of.
