I prefer more realistic slower paced gunplay. I hate classic FPS and prefer Delta Force type of games. If Rainbow Six, SWAT, ARMA, and Operaton Flashpoint were less tacticool and more single player action like Delta Force, I'd fucking play them and marry them, but sadly that's not the case. Aside from the weapon animations and effects, I still think FEAR does everything Black sets out to do much better. And having mouse controls for one. The only thing I sorely miss in FEAR from Black is that in Black you could blast your way through weakened walls with a shotgun in order to open up new paths to flank enemies.

One of my distinct memories about this game is being forced through a factory's walkways hosting an armored elite requiring 5 headshots to kill each. The other is the entrance to the last level being the main gate of a building. In terms of real-world accuracy, not by a long shot. Still, they're flashy and unrealistic, but that is not a problem at all, since the game is not made to be realistic anyway. However, reloading them makes the screen blur out to draw focus to the animation and that is a bad thing because you can't see shit when you reload.

BLACK was a nice game, but let's not sanctify it like people do with every cult game out there. It has flaws.
