Sure the details are different, the stirrups are gone and there's less buckles and zippers, but there's a lot of the same elements, like the sleeves and the general color placement. I don't want start any DmC2 shit but that is probably one of the most common aspects in DMC5. Like with DmC where Tameem was bragging about the Hollywood-tier mocap tech, now they're also underlining the use of actors and some cutting edge physics engine for the clothing.
I don't mind the use of actors but they could have at least hire, ya know, attractive people and also, 100% likeness fidelity is retarded, they could very well use the actor's face and "enhance" the physique or whatever else little changes. Case in point, the Yakuza seres; might come as a shock to some but none of those actors are actually chiseled like Greek gods.
As for Dante's designs, I think they all have their charm and are fitting for the character as he is at the time. That said, my favorite will always be the LDK costume, possibly my favorite alternate costume in any game period.

This got discussed a bit in CV breads and I think most agree that, if anything, Christianity is mostly presented in a positive light - a lot of the allies are church members or are from a organization affiliated to it, Shanoa's technically a nun, some subweapons are of obvious Christian iconography, even the freakin' demon castle gets a chapel at times (and can even be super comfy like in SotN). The fight is a complete and utter waste of time, something that is completely and utterly an anathema to Devil May Cry; a series built on stylish action and rule of cool. I'm fairly certain it will go the way of DmC in tone in just trying too fucking hard, too insecure to just let go and be fucking wacky and fun. I was expecting something better than the garbage we got. Too many pointless plots, too many characters, too much waiting around. I said this in another thread too, but the plot would have worked better if they had cut the two human lieutenants, the comically evil priest, Carmilla, Trevor, the speakers, and just made it all happen within the castle, with Alucard trying to stop Dracula and fighting his vampire generals.
Either that or drop Alucard and focus on Trevor. Having both on top of everything else just turns the story into a slog.

It's funny because the DMC anime is an example of how to do good action with a minimal budget. It shows the location and keeps it simple without constantly shifting perspectives. It acts as if you are standing in a corner of the room a lot of the time, giving you a continuing perspective to the fight, outside of specific angles and shots. This allows them to tell the watcher what's going on without having to actually animate it super well, because the sound design and your brain are able to piece it together. The action that they do show is crisp and quick, looking cool and is able to tell you exactly what is going on.
In comparison the Castlevania bar fight I linked in the post is atrocious. There is no constant in the angle, the fight is essentially one versus one as the others just sort of disappear. The action doesn't have any flow or logic, so it doesn't show us anything about Trevor's abilities. And because the Castlevania animators don't know how to convey motion without animating it, they have to animated everything which not only makes a boring thing to watch, it's also not very well done. Like that kick at the downed Trevor; imagine the kickers hips, given how the leg moved in the shot. It's just unnatural.
