https://www.humblebundle.com/store/sins-of-a-solar-empire-rebellion?

I don't know anything about this game tbh. Is it even worth logging into hb and Steam to get it?

6abb1f  No.15738442

Also am I the only one having problems with creating threads? When I create a thread it doesn't redirect to it automatically, I have to go back to catalog and enter it

Yes, it also has a fuckton of mods ranging from simple enhancements to total conversions if you are into that. Take Star Trek Armada 3 as an example.

Game is fun coop too. You and a buddy against two AIs at a harder difficulty is a good time.

This, a friend of mine used to bring over his PC and we'd get drunk and attempt to purge xeno scum from our solar system.

Good times.

afc7b8  No.15738940

Can you expound on that, friend? I haven't been paying attention to game retail for some time.

6beac9  No.15738972

>>15738940

IGN bought humble so anything you buy from them a percent will go to IGN.

960654  No.15738991

Sins of a Solar Empire is pretty fun, it usually devolves into making a giant blob of units to overwhelm the enemy but it's still enjoyable, especially for free.

afc7b8  No.15739024

>>15738438

The game is a personal favorite and I do suggest jumping through the hoops to get it while it's free. Even if you don't bother with the mods or the DLC (they're nothing major) the game is worth more than the cost of admission. I usually bro-op this when I'm looking to waste a lot of time.

Sorry to hear IGN kikes bought humble but that doesn't have much bearing on you snagging a random free game.

537cb2  No.15739075

>>15739024

It does though since you have to download it through their service, which increases their market value. Better to just pirate it.

eab9d3  No.15739109

You download it through Steam. IGN has fuckall to do with that.

I had the original SoSE and was never able to beat an Expert AI 1 on 1. I was the advent, was there any good strategy for fighting against them or were they always going to grow an army twice as fast and eventually wreck your shit?

afc7b8  No.15739901

>>15739766

By original, you mean the base game, +expansions or Trinity (base game with all expansions?)

Starbases might have really helped you out is what I'm getting at there. I also want to point out that difficulty doesn't change AI behavior so much as it does their income (iirc easy, normal, hard, very hard, brutal, vicious- vicious has 7x resource income) so yes you'll basically always be vastly outnumbered and need quality over quantity.

Very much worth it. Good and memorable game, only had a few small problems holding it back (no multithreading, intense late game lag with more than a handful of players, no campaign to enhance lore and flavor (which it still has tons of despite no actual story)).

It remains Stardock's most successful game, and despite that, they won't make a fucking sequel and instead are hellbent on pumping out new, shittier and more derivative IPs which always flop.

It makes me wonder if there's been some internal rot/restructuring that would cause a sequel to be shit anyway.

afc7b8  No.15745204

>>15744920

Stardock didn't make it, right? They're just the producer
