Taxes are necessary to keep a self-reliable country, because the government doesn't just make money or at least it shouldn't, and the problem in this case being that the money not being used to stuff it is pertinent to, when you tax something is so it provides a better service, what are they going to do with an amusement tax? Improve the infrastructure so streaming works better? I fucking doubt it.
Then there's things like trying to tax sunlight or, in this case, "amusement", which is a really vague concept. At least in hueland they tax vidya as gambling, which is honestly closest to reality when it comes to loot boxes, but it sadly applies to all video games in general.

The rampant, wasteful spending is out of control and needs to be reigned in. The US armed forces already receive more money than anybody could possibly comprehend, but they waste all of it on frivolous and corrupt shit like cronyist no-bid contracts that just inflate the costs of everything, doubly-so when combined with credit systems intended to concentrate wealth in the hands of a select few oligarchs that gain exponentially more power as that wealth gap increases.
Unnecessarily high taxes are often justified by pandering to the unhealthy and weak-minded (universal healthcare, free education for all), but the root cause of the problems are never researched or discussed; most corrupt politicians only describe and attack symptoms, attempting to patch over it with superficial band-aids intended only to 'solve' the problem on its surface, if they don't simply use the problems as a means of moral posturing and taking the 'high road'.
